A Wisconsin middle schooler, who is accused of sexual harassment for misgendering a classmate, said he is afraid for his future if the Title IX violation is not removed from his record.
Rosemary Rabidoux told Fox News Digital she received a phone call from the school's principal saying she would be receiving an email with sexual harassment allegations against her son, Braden.
"I immediately thought, ‘sexual harassment, that’s rape, that’s incest, that’s inappropriate touching, even grotesque language could go that far.’ And when I asked him what my son did, he said that he did not use the correct pronouns," she said.
Braden is one of three Wisconsin students facing sexual harassment charges from their middle school over accusations they used incorrect pronouns when addressing a fellow student.
"I was anxious and scared and upset because I didn’t know what was going to happen," Braden said. "But mostly anxious for my present self and my future self because a charge like that on my record could shatter my chances at getting into a college when I grow up."
Rabidoux said Braden’s school cut her out of the process and did not communicate what the allegations were about.
"I did not know exactly what had happened for three or four days," she said. "It took three or four days for them to send me the complaint to even find out what it was he had done wrong."
Luke Berg, deputy counsel for the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, who is representing the students called the charge a "gross misapplication of Title IX sexual harassment charges."
WISCONSIN MIDDLE SCHOOLERS ACCUSED OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT FOR USING WRONG GENDER PRONOUNS
"Sexual harassment covers really egregious stuff, not simply using the so-called wrong pronoun. The school’s theory seems to be that any use of a wrong pronoun is automatically punishable speech under Title IX, and if that is truly their position, that is a truly egregious First Amendment violation."
A school district in Virginia is considering a rule that would suspend students for "malicious misgendering," a move Rabidoux called "absurd."
"This is middle school. These guys are kids, they’re learning how to interact with each other, and they’ve been taught all their life to see a girl and use pronouns ‘she’ and ‘her.’ They don’t understand using plural pronouns for one student," she said.
"Schools should be focused on education, on math and science and social studies, and not … pronouns," she added.
Berg said they were asking the district to dismiss the charges and drop them from Braden’s record, and "make changes to ensure this doesn’t happen again to other students."

Could a TEFLer (not Vladimir) explain this to me? How do you 'address' someone using an incorrect pronoun? If you address someone, you talk to them directly. Therefore you address everyone as 'you', even if it is a person with a penis who wants to be called 'she' in the third person.covidsux wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 6:19 am

6 middles schoolers from Hidden Oaks Middle School, in Palm City, Florida, held up a sign of the 6 letter" n" word!
Yes it's tough in American middle schools now, don't say gay, rampant neo Nazism and Gap has the same old boring khakis in their window again this year.
Anyone who doesn't embrace the impending implosion is blind.

This stuff makes me mad. Youth write off those who think differently as being old or simply being un pc. I just think they’re insane

Fking youth. They'd rather bitch and moan about how they're referred to than actual tackle real issues that really affect their and other people's lives. Like homelessness and unemployment to name but two.
I was speaking to a black friend and asked her whether she preferred being called a person of colour of simply a black person. Of course she said just black. As does every black person I've ever met. They consistently refer to themselves as black so as to place a seperation between whitey and themselves. I understand the need for youth to separate themselves from the rest of us old fools, but trying to use pronoun identification on the back of all that blacks have had to put up with makes me just want to refer to anybody aged 25 or younger as "it".

Does that impede on the pleasure that spending time with under 25, gender fluid or transitioning blacks brings you?JollyBee wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 11:37 amFking youth. Fluid is a form of gender identity or gender expression, rather than a sexual orientation. Fluid relates to how a person identifies themselves internally and presents themselves to the world. A person who is gender fluid may identify as male one day, female the next, both male and female, or neither.JollyBee wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 4:39 pmIs that the new name for old fashioned spunk?Anthony's Wiener wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 2:54 pmDoes that impede on the pleasure that spending time with under 25, gender fluid or transitioning blacks brings you?JollyBee wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 11:37 amFking youth. Scraping the surface of this ‘news item’ one can probably guess what happened.
Regardless of your opinion on the pronoun issue, we all know that kids can be pricks.
I was a prick as a kid, and could well have been dragged along by the majority and bullied someone who was different.
I can’t imagine this kid is in trouble for misspeaking a pronoun… most likely got in trouble because he was a prick. And of course the parent takes the side of the kid, going sensational on a controversial issue looking for sympathy from those who love jumping on a current news item.
Teach your kids not to be pricks - the world will be a nicer place.

I was a prick as a kid, but I identified as a cunt.
