Yes it is but why would you even bother?
The import taxes, shipping and hassle are just not worth it. RHD cars are worth nothing here anyway.

They are no longer banned, they just need a special red plate with yellow text. These plates are especially common on dumper trucks but you'll see the odd car with them too. Not sure how practical it is having a RHD vehicle though.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
I think that is only for factory spec brand new sales direct from Thailand to get the RH plates. The neighbour has a Beetle they imported. My clan have a battered old Pajero which is ok cos RCAF plates, hunk of shite car tho.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 7:03 pmThey are no longer banned, they just need a special red plate with yellow text. Massive stalker
You can import right hand drive vehicles but you cannot register them.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
Totally agree, whatever it is, it's absolutely not worth it.

That’s true, however, millions of British drive on the continent without issues.
pew, pew, pew, pew!
I think there are numerous right hand drive Toyota Camry's doing the Phnom Penh to [insert destination here] route who prove that to be entirely wrong. One handed. Talking to their friend & confirming their next customer and lunch arrangements.

On a multi-lane highway it's no problem, it's one lane roads (or two lane roads like in Cambodia where you pull into the oncoming traffic lane to pass).
When we cross into Thailand at Koh Kong, the road is fine. It's multi-lane and not an issue. Then it ends up narrowing down, and it's extremely beneficial to have a copilot to let you know when to pass. Then, it eventually opens up to a proper highway, and it's not an issue again.
And no threat of motos or tuktuks or cows coming out of nowhere.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 5:04 pmYes, but most continentals have very different driving styles than they have here.
Lol. That’s true.
Overtaking in my car (LHD) requires five minutes planning. It’s only slighter slower than my 89 Mercedes 190D (non turbo) which was verging on dangerous joining motorways.
I long for my 300bhp Nissan, complete with rally inspired dump valve and waste-gate chatter. “Chiccdiggadaggdooospcheu” and overfueling exhaust flames. Ahhh.
