Could be worse, could be his wife's hairdresser
Drunk Westerner skips bill, pulls gun (Mark Aspinall “Mishmash” from England)
Connexions won't get you anywhere unless you have the finances to make things happen. When locals tell you that they can help you if you have a problem, they forget to tell you that you will need to pay hard cash - I guess they just assume that no one could be stupid enough to think that such assistance would be rendered free of charge.
If this bloke is skint as Jamie says, his friends in all liklihood will have by now evaporated and he will have to do the time like anyone else.

Didn't AndyInAsia also do the same job? Seems everyone in that job becomes convinced they're connected.

Bugger me, they jumped in that canal? I'm surprised it didn't kill them. I have to hold my breath going round that bit. Even worse than the one over the railway tracks running up behind Russey Keo.slavedog wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2020 11:44 amCould this be him making a bolt for it?

Aspie still in the tank?
Most people’s who say they work for the government military/police dont.
According to Licadho suspects can spend up to 22 months in jail awaiting trial. Greasing palms probably helps speed this up but seeing that Aspie had trouble paying his bar tab he probably doesn’t have the funds.
His wife has tried contacting him via the British Embassy but they had no idea about his whereabouts and seemed completely uninformed about the arrest of their own citizen.
For what it’s worth, when a British ganja farmer was arrested in March 2018 he was taken to court 7 months later.
It appears that quietly paying the bill would’ve been better than a slap.

But has he been charged? Unless the law has changed a suspect must be charged with a crime within six months or they are free to go. That is how Cornish Bob the axe man got away with murder, that and the 30 grand of evidence which conveniently disappeared!
k440, something to do when you're pissed.
He was sent handcuffed to court and there were no news about his release. They’re holding him but the fine free Cambodian press hasn’t seen the documents or done reporting on it.

So it was mishmash. He sounds like a real gun nut. Why would anyone carry a gun in Phnom Penh, just asking for trouble.
Remember the Frenchman who robbed the bank with the alleged Glock. What was his name, the garage proprietor?

You mean the Frenchman who left the gun on the counter after the robbery and then knocked himself out by running headfirst into a plate glass door during his 'escape' ...
"We, the sons of John Company, have arrived"
^ yes the gun was worth more than the loot IIRC
