The closest match Trump running the USA as a business would be as "just a single owned business". Or so to say, a dictatorship.
One of the methods dictators do use is ousting of opponents, where ever they popup, the Nazi methods. Methods similar to what is being done in the USA, at the moment, in the past 3 years, as well as to be expected for the near future.
Dictators tend to initially "buy" loyalty using money, preferably not their own money, and subsequently use the gained power base to chop off the heads of opponents, creating an environment of fear.
Especially in the USA, where a continuous 50:50 wobbling balance between Republicans and Democrats is present, the Trump Dictatorship approach does alienate 50% of the population, with the attempts to "purchase" loyalty by spending government money, that has to be taxed back by (a) future generation(s).
