New Book- "Samdech Hun Sen, Hero of Covid 19" Out Soon
Phnom Penh: On May 24, 2020, HE Pov Sok, Prime Minister, Prime Minister of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia revealed that a book (Samdech Hun Sen, Hero of Covid 19) will be published soon.
He emphasized that the book, which contains over 270 pages, will demonstrate the wisdom of the leadership and management of the Royal Government in the fight against the COVID 19 to be 100% successful in the first wave (Phase 1). He added that the issue of COVID 19, if leaders are not clever and thorough, will not protect their people from the danger of this deadly disease. Regardless of how advanced the country is, Samdech Techo said in a press release: But the most important thing is how intelligent and skilled the leader is.

....... But the courage, the openness, and the admirable leadership of the 21st Century in the fight against the COVID 19 can not be denied, because at this stage there is no country (that) can be as good as Cambodia. Cambodia is proud. https://kbn.news/archives/163556

Bringing the news. You stay classy, nas, Cambodia.
Didn't HE scoff in the early days....telling everyone it was not a big deal and personally going to sihanoukville to traipse that shipload of infected foreigners back to Phnom Penh.
And wasn't he rebuffed from his odd political stunt that he'd support China by flying to Wuhan personally?

Hilarious, Cambodia was let off due to a variety of circumstances none of them instigated by HE who despite his best efforts to get the country infected, from welcoming in plague-ridden cruise ships to failing to stem a flock of chinese by pure accident and fluke these did not lead to any outbreak.
Perhaps his book will contain several chapters on how he and the other crooked ochna's have divested large swathes of their wealth to provide a safety net for all the people who have lost their jobs due to his cack handed shut down. How they plan to support those in tourism and garment factories and all the teachers and how he plans to ensure the children who will now go potentially 8 months without any education will be supported. Oh and how they realised their chronically underfunded health care system got let off this time and so all Lamborghinis and Rolls Royce's are to be sold to fund this as it is unlikely there will be many foreign donors plugging the gap for a few years. Plenty to be proud of I am sure.

Well deserved praise for a great man. Is there any hope that it will be translated to English, so that us lesser mortals who weren't fortunate enough to be born Khmer can read it as well?
Why are posters above referring to the Westerdam passengers acceptance into Cambodia? That ship was NOT 'plague-ridden' nor was it 'a shipload of infected passengers'. In fact there was not a single infection aboard that ship - the claim by Malaysia that there was one, was later retracted. Do you agree that these people had to disembark somewhere, or should they still be sailing the seas? And although it was of course partly a publicity stunt, it was ALSO a gesture.
However, I do agree with all other comments above - that it's not thanks to HE or the KH gov't or any other measures taken by them that Cambodia didn't have a corona outbreak. Why Cambodia (and by the way neighbouring countries, too) did not have a massive outbreak is still anyone's guess, but I'm sure there will be some studies into this, which maybe come up with answers.

This book is the first volume in a series on every cause of death that's not heart attack, drug overdose, suicide, or wind overload.

I'm afraid it will be difficult to find it here. But I'm still hoping it will be translated to English and distributed worldwide.
Maybe you can keep us entertained with nuggets of wisdom from the book in the meantime?

Not yet but they will probably arrive soon. We get sent books from the ministries all the time. I don't know how to read Khmer script but some of these books have beautiful illustrations. If anyone is interested I could post some.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

"We, the sons of John Company, have arrived"
That IS hilarious. So Prime minister Hun Sen eradicated covid-19 from the whole country. If that is true why they are still at lockdown at the borders. If he is such a hero, surely he can eradicate all future outbreaks too? Getting serious North-Korea vibes from that book cover.

(Phnom Penh): Samdech Techo Hun Sen's personal adviser, Pov Sok, told Fast News on October 21, 2020 that he will publish the book "Samdech Hun Sen, the Founder and Father of Peace" at the end of October.
He recalled that the book was published after he spent about 10 years collecting and writing more than 600 pages to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the signing of the peace agreement. Paris, October 23, 1991 and reminiscent of the bitter events of the Cambodian people throughout the country during the war.
He stressed that the Paris Agreement of October 23, 1991 is the foundation of democracy, October 23, 1991 is the foundation of peace, October 23, 1991 is the foundation of development. Without the Paris Agreement, there would be no elections, no democracy, no peace and no development.
The book's creator adds that the book also shows the courageous heroism of the national leadership of the Cambodian People's Party, especially Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen, who sacrificed his life for his family Make capital to find peace and end the war completely in Cambodia. In the background of this book, Samdech Hun Sen is seen risking his life as capital to liberate the nation three times. The first in 1970, after the coup d'état to overthrow His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk, the second was on June 20, 1977, when he led four other warriors to Vietnam and III in 1996 when Samdech went to Pailin and Samlot to receive former Khmer Rouge brothers and sisters who were integrated with the Royal Government.
He said that this book also forgot about the great merits of Samdech Techo Hun Sen in doing everything for the motherland and the people of Cambodia.
He stressed that the content of the whole book also shows the value of peace and development, because a nation without peace, the nation will not develop. Just having peace also means that everyone already has a great wealth.
(guessing no mention of wristwatches)
