There is speculation that a firework storage place caught fire and then it spread to a fertiliser store next door (sodium nitrate) The fertiliser had apparently been confiscated off a ship.

Apparently stored there for 6 years with no safety precautions. Jaysus that was a big bang, many thousands may be blinded by glass shattering from the blast wave.
Surely there are going to massive amounts of deaths from this once they have searched the rubble, well in to the hundreds? What a blast!

What kind of accident is that? Fireworks? I think I’m with the tinfoil crowd on this and I haven’t even heard their opinion yet.
Absolutely, certainly no staff will be left to explain what happened.

There is something not quite right about the explanations being put forward at this point in time.
Ammonium Nitrate on it's own is a very stable substance and simply degrades over time. In fact it is cheapish and very common fertilizer.
But Ammonium Nitrate at circa 94% mixed with diesel fuel becomes a cheap bulk explosive as used in major extractive mineral operations throughout the world.
But how did such a large amount of Ammonium Nitrate, in storage, get turned in to a bulk explosive and what was the means/cause of initiation/detonation?
There is something missing in these early reports.
