The Russian vaccine has not not been mass produced yet, so no impact on existing rates of infections. They expect late December, early 2021 for the first batches as far as I recall.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 5:05 pmBoth Russia n China claim to have a vaccine but judging by the way the virus is surging in Russia I don't think the Russian one is up to much.
I would like to see more work on a cure such as the cocktail of anti-body medicines that seemingly worked so well on Trump.
Cambodia first country to receive 500,000 Covid-19 vaccines
Yes. The risk of any bad side-effect is minimal. At worst, its not very effective and create a false sense of security. But since I take no precautions at the moment, that's not going to be a risk for me.Алина Анисимов wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 11:15 pmSeriously would anybody here take that medicine if it was offered to you?
Also, 500,000 vaccines can go a long way to stop spread of infections. If doles out strategically to expected super spreaders. People who daily are in close contact with a lot of people. Doctors & nurses seems like an obvious choice. School teachers perhaps. Prostitutes also actually.

I think it will go a long way to smoothing the travel process and reduce all the red tape, next year, if all governments simply require a vaccination certificate before boarding international flights... No more tests, no more deposits, no more visa restrictions...

Which elites are you referring to and who, perchance, is trying to get rid of them?
I expect you refer to so called "Dental Experts" suspiciously injecting fluoride into the water supply to diminish our precious bodily fluids. Vaccines, 'Mine Shaft Gaps', and un recallable launch codes. Then again, maybe that was just an ahead of its time conspiracy love the bomb film.

Everybody except a very few other elites. It comes with the territory.

Almost all the vaccines need two doses, so 500,000 doses will only vaccinate 250,000 people
Oxford-AstraZeneca accidentally stumbled upon their success rate of 90% by giving a small dose.
China have asked for that formula so they can reproduce it, there’s is only 50% effective.

Because the virus is majorly screwing up most peoples plans and making us actually care about all these vaccine details, many see dichotomies where in fact there are gradients. (And of course, social media, including forums, love dichotomies much more than nuance. (I'm slowly getting trained too.)) E.G. Masks alone won't stop the spread in virus surging countries, they don't work THAT well, but using the full tool box, distancing, masks, hand washing, cleaning, does have an effect. Enough so that current advice, in most circumstances, is to avoid school closures and total lock downs.
I guess vaccine impacts also won't be either/or situations. Going off YaTingPom's 50% number above, if that in fact is the best the current Chinese vaccine can achieve, that might not be so bad for China. It is China, if they get virtually 100% of the people to take a 50% effective vaccine, AND they keep using other toolbox items in some situations, e.g. public transport, life can be otherwise normal.
I'm not very worried about vaccine safety because I trust that experts ARE worried for me. Many US citizens distrust virus experts and won't take it, 95% effective, but if only 50% of the people take it, it ensures USA will need to keep using the toolbox too.
On the other hand, Sweeden says over 1/3 of the people now carry Covid antibodies, yet their virus chief says he sees no evidence of natural herd immunity reducing spread. That ain't good.

I wonder how many anti vaccers we have here. Quite a few I guess. Springrain obviously. Jamie Lambo is on record as saying the moon landings are a hoax so I’m betting he is one too. These things usually come in batches.
I have my suspicions over Alexandra too.

Unless it becomes mandatory for international travel and I can't fake a certificate I see no reason to take a covid vaccine.
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Why not? Testing negative is pretty much mandatory already.
I had covid in March, no biggie.
None but ourselves can free our mind.
I’m glad that you went through it alright but 262,000 people have so far died in America alone so it is a biggie for many people.
