Bitcoins worth more than gold

Long time since anyone got aerated about this.
I'm still happily sitting on to my 1.23 coins - no idea what to do with them except check the price occasionally and remind myself they didn't cost very much.

If you're only holding onto one or two Bitcoin then you might as well just forget about it for the next couple of years. A lot of people have 20-100 Bitcoin so they have to think about what to do with it since their holdings are substantial. My friend has more than 20 Bitcoin and he still buys a little every month. He isn't planning on selling any of it until it goes over 170,000USD. He also has some pocket change in ETH but doesn't feel comfortable recommending it.
Did you consider jumping in with him when he got in?Harold wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 9:01 pmIf you're only holding onto one or two Bitcoin then you might as well just forget about it for the next couple of years. I bought some last year after the Sam Bankman-Fried scandal thing. It was like $15,000 at the time. I'm thinking about buying some ETH but I don't really understand it. The creator is an autistic Russian dude and he isn't a very good communicator. A lot of smart people like BTC and ETH so I'm willing to invest a little but not a lot.

I would get that post removed or at least edited. It's not good OPSEC. In 5-10 years, after a few god candles...

Bitcoin are abit like the Bernie Madoff ponzi.
Abit fishy, and you are not quite sure what you are in fact buying, and reputation i just from word of mouth.

As a no-coiner I think you've dismissed Bitcoin without investigation. The world is changing quickly, don't miss the opportunity if you value liberty. Michael Saylor has invested over 5 billion in coins. It's a long interview but fascinating and he explains the Bitcoin principles.spitthedog wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 10:48 pmBitcoin are abit like the Bernie Madoff ponzi.

Bitcoin University is also a great channel.
Just as I wouldn''t give 'medical advice, this is not financial advice...
It isn't a Ponzi scheme because it is decentralized. It isn't comparable to the tulip trade because it is demonstrably scarce and it has shown resiliency and continued growth far longer than the three years of tulip mania. I think it is extremely unlikely that it will go to 0 but it could lose 90% of its value if the US government outlaws it. I don't think that will happen because there are too many wealthy Americans who are invested in it.
I think it will someday have roughly the same market cap as gold. It could be worth 250,000 in ten years but even that seems wildly optimistic to me.
Owning one or two is worthwhile but I wouldn't own any more than I'm prepared to lose. As with everything else, it isn't generally prudent to put all your eggs in one basket.

Waiting to see if their stance on trading/buy&sell will change as it is legally banned and banks will freeze your account (if discovered).

“Buy low, sell high” is the mantra for any investor Bitcoin is finished for that, all you will do now is push the price up a little further to make those currently invested richer just don’t be holding the parcel when the music inevitably stops!
