What did you have for dinner?
Alcohol is necessary so that a man can have a good opinion of himself, undisturbed by the facts
Agree, the whole lime shit is a waste of valuable drinking time.doktor_d wrote:He,he.. Yeh. I only drink a couple whenever I have some Mexican food. Oh, and no lime.SunSan wrote:JM has a stash of Pacifico. I like it but I have to feel very Mexicanian to drink it more frequently.doktor_d wrote:...

This Food porn has got to stop.
You just don't understand the impact it has on such a fragile mind as mine.
I've reach a point of mental imbalance and become just another junkie looking for a hit, I've visited all the Asian joints that I know I can score from, but it's not the same. I'm starting to think they mix it with local supply and the hit is not as intense as I need.
And as far as SS goes, after all the punishment he has inflected upon me I guessing that one day he will appear in the window of some BBQ joint in China as Honey Glazed Pork.
RAA does not ESCAPE MY RATH, she will be a tooth pick, LPB will be a discarded as a tissue used to wipe my greasy fingers.
So onto tonight's menu:
Veal fillet, marinated in soy and chilli, cut into strips for a stir fry.
Dried Black Fungus ( Asia dried Mushroom - reconstituted in a mix of water and Rice wine ) - to be added last
Assorted green things ( bok choi, beans, snow peas - green stuff etc ) + Bean Sprouts.
Corn ( cut off the Cobb - Fresh !, ) and snow peas.
Followed by a bottle of my favorite.
Good night one and all.
Kev

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

What's pico de gallo, I need to know, sounds like, ummm, ... pico of the rooster?
Yesterday's breakfast.
A communal dish, take one of the sliced things on the right (plantain or ginger or cucumber or egg plant), load it with the fish (something like ceviche?) from the top left, put a piece of pork on it and you're good
And because that wasn't enough, we also had 'sweet vegetable', (ponlae pa'aem, what is this exactly? Anybody know? No, not pumpkin greens, I asked)
Fried fish with pickled plantains (left) and cucumbers and carrot
And pork ribs
All at Banteay Srey Restaurant on the airport road.

Yesterday's lunch, veg thali at New Delhi Restaurant in Siem Reap. Nothing to write home about, I also got three plain nans. Place is clean and the owner's smart enough to keep the kitchen out of view.
Then came dinner, at India Gate, SR. People had warned me about it... Turns out the food is good and cheap and it's popular with the young volunteers and backpacker crowd. They don't mind the kitchen and toilet, I guess. One next to the other. The owner could at least have hung up a curtain in the entrance to the kitchen.
Asians, especially Indians, see this at first glance and don't eat there.
Non- veg thali, tasty, but standard dishes.
Tandoori chicken, without the typical, sourish spicy taste. I assume he doesn't marinate long enough. Was good, just tasted like moan ang, LOL!
Garlic nan, very nice. He might add more salt, certainly there's taste in that bread.

Not enough Indian food yet so I figured I'd go have lunch at The Indian. South Indian food and lengths ahead of the two places I went to yesterday.
Here's the mutton thali
and here's the South Indian thali.
Had poppadams as an appetizer.
The food was delicious.

Dined at the Cathouse this evening. Had a nice liver & onions with mash and veg, and a fine pair of tits as a backdrop to the meal. A few draughts, two bourbons, a couple of lady drinks, all for a bit more than $20. Can't complain.
