Finding teaching work in P Penh
Finding teaching work in P Penh
Hello ladies and gents,
just arrived in Phnom Penh after 8 long years in Thailand, where I taught SCUBA for 6 years, then spent the last 2 teaching English.
I have a bachelors degree in Computer Science, TEFL, and am a 38 year old British national.
I've already sent my Cv to some positions on camhr.com, but any advice/ links / whatever to speed up getting work would be much appreciated!
Cheers in advance,
Dan

The easiest and most surefire way to land a teaching job is to print off your CV and visit the schools in person. Dress smart and as long as you don't hit the director in the face you should be working within 24 hours (depending on your expectations).

...and brushing up on your written grammar will do wonders. Just saying
People will be unlikely to give you referrals to their schools when you display such poor written grammar.

Good luck!

Appreciate the advice, even with the snark my fat fingers are still adapting to these bloody tiny smart phone key pads so don't be too harsh eh? Thanks again though, will don some smart attire and do the rounds tomorrow.Eturnal Youf wrote:The easiest and most surefire way to land a teaching job is to print off your CV and visit the schools in person. Good luck with your job hunt Dan. I will arrive in late November to teach also, so I will be very interested to hear how you get on.
Much appreciated, will post how it goes, and if fortune smiles one may even have some tips of my own before you get hereBumblebee65 wrote:Good luck with your job hunt Dan. I will arrive in late November to teach also, so I will be very interested to hear how you get on.

First interview, I got work at a decent school - ELT, they are opening a new school In Nov so drop your cv there when you arrive, dress smart and let them know you can teach all ages, you should get work easilyBumblebee65 wrote:Great stuff cheers.KaoTeK wrote:Much appreciated, will post how it goes, and if fortune smiles one may even have some tips of my own before you get hereBumblebee65 wrote:Good luck with your job hunt Dan.
