I haven't, but I did recently get my first spam facebook sms. It invited me to cancel the spam by replying but it didn't accept the reply. It's the first non-mobitel spam sms I can remember getting.
I came, I argued, I'm out
Yes, through Cellcard. Took a whole day, and then about 3 came through....dv8inpp wrote:In pp has anyone had facebook send them an SMS to validate their account

I also hate having to REGISTER every friggin week via SMS....
It's cool. When ur select friends update their status u get sent an SMS with it.SunSan wrote:I didn't give them my phone number so I've not been asked to validate.
It's great to see how many people regret their status updates almost instantly!
U normally wouldn't catch them.
"Getting fucked up at Martinis with these crazy hoes!"
Changed to...
"Out drinking with friends"
A minute later, lol....
U can't unring a cell..
Still waiting, thinking about getting some extra sim cards from different providers to see if that solves the problem. Doesn't FB realise some people have multiple phone numbers so tying your account to one phone number is stupid.

You are free to create as many FB account as you want with as many email address you can create, just don't tell them you are the same person.dv8inpp wrote:Still waiting, thinking about getting some extra sim cards from different providers to see if that solves the problem. You are also free to not have a FB account, which IMHO is the best solution.mrfusion wrote:You are free to create as many FB account as you want with as many email address you can create, just don't tell them you are the same person.dv8inpp wrote:Still waiting, thinking about getting some extra sim cards from different providers to see if that solves the problem. Yeah people will be pissed off when they find it's just a division of homeland security.

The phone number i provide is only used for validating and get a id. And you don't need to provide if you don't want a chosen Id.Username Taken wrote:Exactly.Kpal wrote:You are also free to not have a FB account, which IMHO is the best solution.mrfusion wrote: You are free to create as many FB account as you want with as many email address you can create, just don't tell them you are the same person.
Farcebook has conned so many people into willingly providing so much personal information; day by day accounts of their lives; photos; and so much more, and now they've conned them into providing their personal phone number. (Yeah, right, it's just so they can let you know instantly that so-and-so just wrote on your wall).
It never send me anything else.
My smartphone connect to my email and I know all update instantly so the SMS is not necessary.
what feature did you turn on that I don't know about.
Also, you don't need to provide real information, you don't need to provide your everyday emai address.
Be careful how you add your friends and only your friends can see those pictures.
