OneTV has now launched
Seems the digital revolution has started - looks good but I can't find a full channel listing or package prices on their website;

So with One Premier you get news and sport, and NO Cambodian channels???
I came, I argued, I'm out
No, they are all accumulative - if you get Premier, you get the whole sodding lot! $12/m last I heard? Sounds good, but you need one set top box per TV, so if you've got a pile of tellies to support, might not work out all that great. I'm sure some hackers have made a widget for this though & put on ebay already.andyinasia wrote:So with One Premier you get news and sport, and NO Cambodian channels???

$12 for the full package? Hey, I might go for it.Spigzy wrote:No, they are all accumulative - if you get Premier, you get the whole sodding lot! $12/m last I heard? Can you have one TV on One and another on PPCTV? We just need one for the missus to enjoy her stupid dubbed voices in a sound-proofed room while I watch proper TV.

That's what I was looking for too, but they do mention the term on the glossary/spec page of their site, so you never know. I was also hoping the set top box would have DVR capabilities too but no mention AFAICTcambod wrote:No HD channels it seems?
I've phoned their number 5 times today and nobody is answering. Either there is great interest or they have no idea how to run a business. No reply from their email address either.

Ha, reminds me when I went in to buy a TV about 3 years back and the sales twerp in was insisting that I buy the HD version of the tv I wanted because it was 'better quality picture'. No words could explain to him about the impact of a lack of a HD provider in Cambodia was having on my decision making. Meanwhile 3 years later, HD TV prices are looking much better - when somebody finally provides it of course!cambod wrote:No HD channels it seems?
It's quite depressing the lack of product knowledge/attention to detail sales folks have in this culture - seen it across a range of different shops & products.

This is essentially correct. Have just been speaking to some of those people involved in this.Spigzy wrote:No, they are all accumulative - if you get Premier, you get the whole sodding lot! $12/m last I heard? All of the channels listed previously are available at $12 per month ie. the complete package. Smaller packages are available too. ie. you can get 1, 2 or
3 of the packages at a pro rata cost.
If you have only one television at home it seems a great deal. If you have a tv. in the living room, bedroom and say kitchen I am being told you can
set the system to watch the SAME channel in each room but YES you do need a set top box for each tv to watch DIFFERENT channels.
Apparently demand has been high. The shop is apparently just across forom Lucky Supermarket on Sihanouk Boulevard. They say they shifted over 1000 units on Saturday alone. Also, I have been told if you sign up between now and the end of the year then the set top box is free of charge. After that the box will be $50/60??
To me it all sounds like an excellent deal - will be getting 2 boxes for the Vespa at my earliest convenience. ESPN, Star Sports and Coronation Street
alone will make it all worthwhile!!
