I would say I'm surprised they don't have a morgue with freezers but I forgot where I was for a second. Rethinking that I'm guessing the morgue is little wood shanty out back of the hospital, no use keeping the dead ones inside. That's better kept for the paying customers!Lucky Lucan wrote:That's surprising given the arctic-like conditions we've had recently.porky pig wrote: No family members, nor any one from the Russian Embassy, have come forward to claim the body so far, which is now badly decomposing

http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/glas ... n.19944258Glasgow man dies in Cambodia tragedy
Rachel Loxton
Reporter.
TRIBUTES have been paid to a Glasgow man who died on holiday in Cambodia.
Alan McCulloch's body is believed to have been discovered in the early hours yesterday in Kampong Saom, in the south east Asian country.
It is thought the 43-year-old, originally from Pollok, may have died in a swimming accident.
The former Cardonald College student was on a solo trip to the country.
Mr McCulloch, who was a keen traveller and hill walker, had previously worked at building firm the Dunne Group as a joiner.
Friends and former colleagues paid tribute to Mr McCulloch on social networking sites.
His former colleague Colin McMullan said: "Lost a good mate. Big Al sadly died in Cambodia in a swimming accident. In his last message to me yesterday he said they had a mad storm over there and it wrecked and sunk all the boats so he was on the beach trying to help the locals refloat their boats.
"Sums him up, would help anyone. Will miss him and his mad stories, he was a top man and nutter."
James Burnett said: "Sad to hear this morning big Alan McCulloch passed away on holiday. Thoughts and prayers are with his family. RIP big man, hope you're up there having a party already."
Matthew Ward added: "You will be missed big man."
A spokesman from the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office said they were helping Mr McCulloch's family.
He said: "We are aware of the death and we are providing consular assistance with the family at this time."
So the official line is that he wasn't out in the sea for a misjudged drunken late night swim but 'helping local refloat their boats after a mad storm'.
Like you do.

I wonder if the fact that he was 'a nutter' contributed to this tragedy.hotdigr wrote:Storm?Hmmm, I must have slept through it. Wonder if the fact there was a 2 day rave at Otres on Monday and Tuesday contributed to this tragedy?

It is a gross stereotype to state that all Scots are alcoholic nutters. Particularly in Pollock, most are too far gone on the smack to lift the voddie bottle.
Residents were shocked that this 10-year-old bought her smack "outside the shopping centre". Presumably because it is much more convenient to buy it inside:

So a "very fit" man and good swimmer is found dead on the beach in the morning and police immediately label it a drowning? Certainly possible, but wouldn't the Cambodians just label any dead foreigner they find on the beach at sunrise a "drowning"?
Cambodia coroner explanations:
Westerner over 50 found dead in hotel room: "heart attack"
Westerner under 50 found dead in hotel room: "drug overdose"
Westerner found dead near body of water: "drowning"

Next we'll here when the embassy officials come for the body they have misplaced them. Or suddenly there's a fire in the morgue and all the bodies are completely destroyed.
