Anyone have any insider info on bungalows on Koh Rong....i liked the look of Paradise but any suggestions would be great...travelling in Dec this year. I was gonna spend a few nights at Nomads, Koh Tatong but apparently thats been off loaded to some US multinational.....any other ideas on cool chilled out islands, good places to stay etc most welcome....thanks guys...

just got back today... like an hour ago. paradise and treehouse are both really nice... but a bit of a launch down the beach to get to. we were in treehouse and i was sick as hell of having to walk all the way back up the beach because i forgot something in my bag and needed to go grab it (etc).
treehouse has, well, treehouses... really nice ones right on a mostly private beach. we had a GREAT view. $35.
paradise looked really nice and about the same price, but the best looking places were up on a huge hill quite the walk in to get to. we passed them by.
there were also a lot of non-advertised places close to all of the activity that had pretty nice private rooms for a lot cheaper than a full on bungalo.
it was a nice time... be sure and bring bug spray, sand flies will eat you alive and the coconut oil (they claim prevents them) doesn't do shit. they do a backstroke in it, take a bite, and move on.

Hey that sounds cool OD! I'll have to look it up and go when I get back... Still out working, been little over 2 months now. Getting tired of this a little.
I'm the coolest guy I know.... shit I think I need some new friends!
I would recomend Saracen Bay on Koh Rong Samleom,Freedom .Saracen Bay or Beach Resort, good choice of restaurants,5km of white sands and absolutely no rubbish.
Fantastic wildlife at the treks off the beach, monkees, hornbills ,Raptors ,soaring Sea Eagles
Pristine water,Its Paradise ,take the walk across the Island to Lazy Beach for Lunch.
Feed the fish from the Pier at the New Resort under construction.

Saracen bay gets filthy with rubbish at different times of year and it has that awful backpacker party place with the huge speakers blasting out shit music night and day.I like koh rong better but I haventbeen to the north of saleum or the place people like on the south western side, lazy beach.

Yeah while we were there last weekend nearly the whole island vacated and went on a party boat over to Koh Rong Samleom from 7pm until 6am. We pretty much had the whole island to ourselves.

Stayed at the front bungalow at Paradise. A spliff and the sea, sat for 3 days and my life came back together after a messy year. Great place.

I didn't shoot the above video but it kinda sums the view up well.
The only trouble I had with sandflies was about a half K walk left along the beach, after you have walked inland a little , then the first beach, bit like hell.
The beach outside Paradise is great and nice ladies brush it for you in the morning, err, the beach that is!!!
Enjoy your trip, lucky bastard
