Opening a bank account
Guys,my guess is , this question has been asked five million times on this forum, but do I just walk into a bank with a passport, you have a business visa in it,etc, and open your own Cambodian account
If so, what banks would you reccommend?

If you're going to do some online wheeling & dealing (Paypal/Skrillex), Maybank it is (Malaysia). Or some other bank from a country they deal with.
If not, Cambodia Public Bank, better yet-- Canadia.
See you in Hell

Specifically, a bank that would issue you with a VISA Debit card!

Yeah, any of these 3 would do that---Visa credit/debit, but for a monthly fee. Otherwise, no Visa logo given on free debit/ATM cards.Aleks wrote:Iridesce wrote:Passport & Cash.Aleks wrote:Guys,my guess is , this question has been asked five million times on this forum, but do I just walk into a bank with a passport, you have a business visa in it,etc, and open your own Cambodian account

Ok, so let's get this straight...
Can anyone who enters Cambodia with a fistfull of cash and a 30 day business visa just walk into the above mentionned banks and deposit the cash into an account?
No rental contracts/long term visas needed?
Cheers.

You can with a Wing account. Just a passport is sufficient, if you've got a Mobitel SIM you can get the account for free until the end of this month. Minimum balance is $0, monthly fee is $0 and you still get an ATM card that you can use in an ANZR ATM (ultimately your money is held in that bank too, so is perfectly safe).

So, to open this Wing account I'd walk into an ANZ branch and drop the cash there?Spigzy wrote:You can with a Wing account. Are there any other banks out there that offer the same thing, preferably handing out an ATM card at the same time?
