she has stopped using it entirely... now only puts on some basic spf35 when we're at the beach, otherwise darkens up naturally. it's not that hard to fight it... just explain that it's what you like. being attractive to you should be more important than looking good to everyone else [/quote]OrangeDragon wrote:

Cheers you.

casper, I agree that your bar has an outrageous name.
You should name it after something respectable, morally pure.
How about the Vatican? Oh, wait...

Nice complete misrepresentation of the point. I admit 100% that Phnom Penh is 'better' for many people than Sihanoukville, obviously it is for you. My whole point is to rectify the claims that Sihanoukville is only good for Pedophiles, Alcoholics and Drug Abusers. A common call on this forum.casper_uk wrote:

It wasn't misrepresentation.
But at least you agree that Sihanoukville is better for some than others and vice versa for Phnom Penh. Sihanoukville may be suitable for retirees who aren't looking for much to do.
I didn't refer to Sihanoukville as being connected with pedophiles. You referred to your own patrons as looking like "sexpats, druggies and pedo's". Whatever those categories are supposed to look like.

Maybe it's a case of you don't know what you're on about.

Yes, every time I go to SHV I really don't want to come back to PP... But I'm too young and poor to retire...

got that wrong stupid DUDE posting.jm wrote:I have to call bullshit on your bullshit call. I lived in Santa Monica for 12 years and lived in LA my entire life before coming to Cambodia, spent summers at Balboa from the age of five and moved to SM soon as I had the opportunity. I spent every day I could at the beach even when I lived in the Valley. I don't recall ever wearing a wetsuit and I didn't say I came to Cambodia to surf. If you had a clue you'd know that August and September ocean temperatures are quite nice, June and July can be chilly. Stupid post dude.Khmerican wrote:Gotta call bullshit on that. Nobody comes to Cambodia to surf so don't pull that crap.jm wrote:Have grown up with the huge bikinified sandy beaches and cool surf of southern California, I can't say jumping and sweating in the motionless dirty warm water bathtub at Kompong Som's tiny beaches has much appeal. I suppose if you're used to beaches in Scotland or equivalent the KS beaches might appeal some. Not for me.
how I love Add Foe
have to say I'm now interested in seeing Sihanoukville.
I have NO need for culture n such like. I don't go out HERE, where I've lived for 30 years. And we got Orange Beach an hour away. Also great seafood. I've decided I'll have to start cooking for myself to survive Cambodia as I can't spend the money required to eat out a lot. Khmers seem to like bland, boiled stuff. I now bring spices and seasonings when I come. If I can find anything resembling street food of Thailand in Sihanoukville I'll be there often. What I NEED anyplace is internet access. I was happy with my Metfone dongle, but I read they left Cambodia. I know there was one Birdbrain deemed better, but I forgot who. Any idea Casper? I like the laptop dongle connection as I move around Cambodia a lot sometimes.

No, Metphone is still here and probably the most popular. Others are Smart, QB, etc, etc

GREAT! i'd just got a new dongle before I left last time, might have time on it still. One year I paid up for another month, like 12 gig or something but left a week or so later. ONE YEAR later I'm back in Cambodia at the Metfone shop looking to pay for more time. They said "No, still have lots, big" I figured like HERE in the U$A if you did not use it, you lose it. Nope, I was online for the next 3 weeks. Thanks for the info, I'd read they left a lot of employees in the lurch with unpaid paychecks or something.
by the way...seems like you stay booked pretty good. I'm in Thailand/Cambodia from early November on to early March. I'm guessing as it's high season you are pretty full, esp around the stupid Chri$tmas thing and New Years. Do you take bookings a month in advance or more? AND...how far are you from a beach? I'm not gonna be picky about crud critters, as i'm gonna be coming from Pattaya. And hey, first time someplace that's kind of amusing.

As much notice as possible is always good, we're pretty full now.
We're in downtown, so about as far away from a beach as you can get, that said, it's $1 on a moto, or $2 in a Tuk Tuk. Some of the guys even walk to the beaches which can take about 30 mins.
