Vlad,
Is this query for a barang or a khmer, not that it should really matter but unfortunately it does to some extent.
If for a barang, then really should think of pursuing an overseas/across the border solution.
However, in saying that, I have a couple of suggestions which you might want to explore there.
There is a physician whose name is Dr Eav Sokha who used to work at the Cambodian-Russian Friendship hospital - he was head of the Oncology department there. He is a very passionate man, and is intent on making a difference. I'm not sure, but I heard a rumour that he was setting up a new oncology department at the Calamette, so whether he has moved there I don't know. I'm pretty sure you can find his number in the yellow pages.
I would also suggest that you investigate the Sihanouk Hospital Centre of Hope (it is next to the old hotel Juliana (does that still exist??)). Of all the bad reports about Bernie Kirscher, this is really one of his finest contributions to Cambodia. The Radiology department there has all the necessary tools to diagnose (CT scanners, mammographers etc....). I believe they have a good team of young physicians, and think that they provide free service to the disadvantaged. Unfortunately, though they may be able to diagnose, the level of treatment in Cambodia is limited (but in saying that, I'm hopeful it is getting better and better with every year).
Good luck with it!
