Peter Hogan, aka keeping_it_riel RIP
Update:
Peter Hogan, aka Keeping it Riel (KIR), has jus passed away at Calamete Hospital this Morning, 2 December 2015.
**********************
Original post below Thread Originally Titled - KIR in Hospital
*************************
It would appear from twitter that KeepingItRiel has sustained a head injury and is now in Calamete Hospital. His wife apparently came home and found him on the floor. Could be a fall or could be a stroke.
It looks very serious, Calamete is not a good place to be for this sort of injury.
Apparently the embassy has been called and they will visit in the morning.
Wishing him a speedy and full recovery.
Information I have comes from https://twitter.com/peter_in_cambo and second hand from Cambod via his forum.

Ouch. Hope he recovers fully, not a good place to end up in hospital in an emergency.
Thanks for the update, LJ. That's a shocking news and I hope he'll pull through. Head injuries are pretty unforgiving in Cambodia, hope he can get treatment in one of the better hospitals around.
Best of luck to him and his wife.

Is he conscious ? does anyone know? I'll try and get up there to check in on him, if conscious he'll need some food and and liquid as Calmette are fucking useless at that kind of thing. LL you know the wife , speak to her and get her to get him him out of there or he'll end up like the piss head yank we worked with who died in Calmette from head injuries.
k440, something to do when you're pissed.

Also talking with his wife and he's still unconscious as of about an hour ago.
This is very serious, I'm afraid.
I'll keep everyone updated as I can.

Trying to help her work out if he has medivac coverage through his employer, but it was too early to get a hold off them.

He's unconscious. Evidently his wife arrived home last evening and found him on the floor by the side of his bed. She said that he told her he fell. He was taken to hospital but was unconscious by the time he arrived.
The doctors at Calmette are saying that it is dangerous to move him.
Aside from that, noone knows very much. There is speculation he may have been in bed and had a stroke or brain aneurism (spelling) because the doctors there are saying 'blood on the brain.'
Terrible thing to happen. This is not a place to have a serious head injury.

We also have a fellow CEO member going to the hospital in a few hours to see if they can help out and get a better idea of what exactly is going on.
Fingers crossed.

KiR is in my experience a good bloke, contrary to some opinions expressed lately.
The best place, (if it is possible to move Kir without medivac) for patients with a head injury in Phnom Penh is:
Khema Clinic
#18, St. 528, Sangkat Boeung Kok 1, Khan Toul Kok,
Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Tel : (+855) 23 880 949, (+855) 92 616 113, / Fax : (+855) 23 882 447
Email : [email protected]

Shocking news.
Dude needs to get moved stat to the Royal Bangkok on Russian and then out to Bangkok or Singapore.
He stays in that death trap he's done for.
Scoby if you need someone to assist in getting him moved PM me.

not good news, however, at least he has many people trying to get better help for him. Good on you Cambod - not even in the country and you alerted the Embassy.
