The U.S. certainly keeps records of every time I enter, tied to my profile, regardless of what passport I use. and I lost a passport once and several years later after I had it replaced I got pulled aside in Bangkok and they asked if I had two passports.
I don't have a high opinion of the Cambodian immigration department's ability to track people across passports, but it's possible.
Yes they do keep track, but none of the info is linked online. all in paper. I know this through an incident that happened to my husband in early 2014.
I don't think they are going to dig through all that paperwork from the past 30 years just to check somebody's back payments.I mean not with this sudden change.
New passport, enter with a Fresh 30 day visa, this way you will only have 1 previous 30 day visa in your new passport. extend by 1 year. do not show your previous passports even if they ask.
Even though they do have proper (well compare to some Asian countries) ID systems, they are not linked online. If they were, more thieves will be caught when there is a proper camera footage.
