Foreigner in Merc chases local driver who hit his car
At least that is what we think the story is about:
3 Khmer guys in a Camry bumped into a Mercedes driven by a foreigner (no nationality mentioned, although I think I hear an American accent and given he wants to hide his face from the cameras, I wonder if he is in some senior position here) on Sisowath Quay in front of Tonle Sap restaurant at 10.30pm on July 10 and they didn't stop and try to drive away. The foreigner wouldn't have it, so he pursued them, and knocked out the front window, on driver's side.
Just looking at the images of the smashed window around 1.40, it seems it was done with some brute force and in a rage.
They then argued until police arrived.
Was anyone in the area last night?

Not sure about the ' senior position' Scooby - are you saying it because of the Merc ?
Hiding the face is a normal reaction I reckon too. No one wants to be viral on Khmer Facebook.
That old E-Class has more or less the same Cambodian market price as the Camry that hit it.

Haha - my money’s on Playboy
I'm not sure I'm reading it right, but the article seems to say that he smashed the windshield with his hand??
That's indeed what the article mentions but which is hard to believe (unless a heavy and big object was used). Did he use that laptop?Joon wrote:I'm not sure I'm reading it right, but the article seems to say that he smashed the windshield with his hand??
Joon, what does ឲ្យ means? (As in ដៃបណ្តាលឲ្យបែកខ្ទេច)

Notwithstanding ken svay's flight of fancy, there is no way that damage was caused by an elderly chap's hand. He must have used something to cause that much damage.

UPDATE: it appears he may be Canadian

The Merc is a clapped-put piece of shit. Long shirt? Tefler or missionary.gavinmac wrote:He must have a a good job, he's driving a Mercedes and wearing a long sleeve shirt.

TEFlers and missionaries don't drive Mercedes and hang out on the riverside at 10:30 p.m. carrying briefcases. Or man purses.

It looks like the girl in red is his companion. Why does he just blame the whole thing on her?

And a leather belt. Teflers don't wear belts. They wear string-pull track pants.
I'm very confident my completely unfounded suspicion that he is an Embassy dude or some top executive are completely true. Hell, he might even be a lawyer. I hope so. The idea of lawyers punching out Camry windows with their fists is a delicious one.
