HI all,
Heads up, tech idiot here.
So, I'm looking at trying to get some internet hooked up for maybe 80 people at the same time. I would like to get Wifi too. I really don't know how much about how internet works around here (or anywhere for that matter), but from what I do understand the more people that are on the internet, the slower it goes like a water main right? So the more people on it, the "bigger" the internet needs to be?
Either or, I'm wondering if anyone has good experience with internet for big places, or a recommendation. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
Internet for restaurant?
If it's a restaurant they'll most likely be taking pictures of the food, updating there facebook status and other low usage applications. You might get the odd arsehole that queues up his daily bit torrent needs and downloads it during dinner. You'll need the WiFi so your customers can get on to your network connection. An Openet or Digi $40/month would be more than adequate.
Who is the target clientelle?
Most Khmer target restaurants I've been to lately are full of people on phones/tablets watching facebook videos, streaming bestiality porn, or face-timing their sweethearts. 20mbps would be ideal.
Most barang go to a restaurant to eat, take a few instagrams. 3-5mbps would suffice.

Besides the line speed also have a look at the restaurant network. Use a decent brand AP/Router instead of the TP-Link or Pro-Link provided by most ISP. These tend to die under average to heavy load, are generally not very secure and sometimes have problem connecting certain smartphone models.
If the restaurant is using a Point of Sale system, try to keep it separated from the customers Wifi. Especially if it can process credit cards
You might have to install several Access Points / Repeaters to get good coverage, this depends a bit on material used in the building and the layout. If you load "Wifi Analyzer" app on an android smartphone you can get a nice graph showing signal strength and nearby access points that could interfere with your connection. Start by installing one device and see if it is enough. If not, you can walk around with the app and smart phone to look were reception lacking.
Good luck

I thought all the lines are leased through Eizeecom (SP)?
Anyway. If there's an existing connection you can talk to the supplier to "open up" the line so you can have a bigger upload speed. Also look at your router and make sure it can cope.
Or just tell everyone to use their own 3G connection!
