They actually give the pizza for free if they are late? That's insane. I thought no Khmer has ever given a foreigner anything for free.

Better than Limoncello. When this thread first appeared, I said Limoncello was #1. That was before I discovered The Italian House. Certainly better than Luigi's. Paulo uses a real wood fired oven.joelightcloud wrote:Yes, second only to Limoncellogavinmac wrote:The Italian House on Street 312 at Street 9 does a very good pizza.
Are the Katy Perry boys still running that little Pizza truck on 51 ?
Nice beer fuelled late night pizza from what i remember , And a reasonably priced beer or short while you wait ... And yes a couple of hard working chaps to boot ...

I see nobody raves about Luna dauttuono or poop cafe anymore.
Limoncello and Italian House pretty close. Silvio's margarita and 4 seasons trumps Paolo's. But most other pizzas Paolo gets it.
Luigi? Fuggedaboutit

I was going to start a new thread on this, but I guess I might as well bump this one so everyone doesn't instantly say "we've discussed this a million times!" even though it's been three years.
So, I think that there have been a lot of changes, although a bunch have stayed the same.
Brooklyn restaurant has gone downhill, but the delivery still remains the best delivery option I think.
My personal overall best is Luigis on 308, and although the place gets packed, you can always eat it at a bar nearby as well. It's very reasonably priced, great ingredients (we normally order some antipasti as well for the side), and consistent through the years.
Oskar has surprising good (and also consistent) pizzas, with the added bonus that the kitchen is open until midnight.
Katy Perry is great if it's 2 AM and you're drunk, but that's about it imho.
I had lunch at Matteo last week, which offers a $7 lunch special with a salad, pizza, and one drink (soft drink or coffee), which is not only a good deal, but decent pizza.
If Forno is another that has a great pizza lunch deal, and a lot of people seem to really like the pizza. I think that their large pizzas are a lot stronger option than the mediums, as the crust seems to be a bit thinner on them.
What am I missing?

I'm still loyal to Romano. Very authentic Italian style pizza. And great ham, olives, anchovies etc in the deli fridge.
NB, they have recently moved from their original location. They are now just round the corner on Street 19.

I'm sold on Romano as well. Inexpensive authentic large pizzas with fresh ingredients.
The words,,, pizza and anchovies ,should not be used in the same sentence. that aggressive salty fish crap does not belong on a pizza, strangely, some people like it.slavedog wrote:I'm still loyal to Romano. Would that be on a thin'n'crispy , regular , or deep dish base.?.. Many say the base of a good pizza is the base.Miguelito wrote:Guilty. Actually, they are not in the same sentence and I didn't say anything about sticking them on a pizza.Jep wrote:The words,,, pizza and anchovies ,should not be used in the same sentence. that aggressive salty fish crap does not belong on a pizza, strangely, some people like it.slavedog wrote:I'm still loyal to Romano.
