Sounds terrible, the only people walking down the street here are tourists and the folks looking for empty cans and bottles, it's just too damn hot and there are hardly any sidewalks. Maybe she should have taken a tuktuk?
Thanks for the clarification, that puts things under a totally different light.cornerss wrote:She was carried at first, but then the people in the car, who didn't know her or the friend, saw the incident and tried to help out. They transported her, with the aforementioned friend, for a few blocks to the clinic and then left, since they had no other connection to or knowledge of the situation -- that is perhaps the source of the confusion. So, there was nothing at all extraordinary or shady about what happened, just a sad case of someone dying very suddenly.gavinmac wrote:Are you saying there was no car at all, and she walked to clinic or was carried there on foot? The article not only mentions a car that dumped her there, it gives the make and license plate number. It's hard to believe that a journalist would just make that up.
Sloppy hasty amateur journalism at best, misleading sensationalistic "journalism" at worst.
The article mentioned there were foreigners who stayed and tried to figure things out. But it didn't mention the friend who stayed.

Why are you guys blaming the journalists? They show up on the scene and ask the witnesses what happened. The witnesses said four dudes in a black Ford dropped her off and fled. That's what gets reported. Whether that story is the truth or the new story from the new commenter is the truth, I don't know.

R.I.P Tanja, little similar to Klaus death more then one year ago. Glad, both of you didn't suffer by sickness too much - or in the need to take the gun yourself s. Also glad, it was not the new wave of violence in the Penh, that hit you. Sadhu 3*

Tanja's ashes were laid to rest in Wat Krom in Sihanoukville yesterday.
A few of us took her on a ride around Sihanoukville for one last time (her urn was taped to the handlebars of a Harley and she led the procession) stopping in front of her old place in Victory Hill before a short ceremony at the wat and placement of the urn accompanied by a photo of Klaus in the internment building at the wat.

Note to self: Must be nice to morons.
That sounds really nice

I would have liked to have been there for that. Unfortunately didn't know it was taking place.
Does sound nice.
RIP my eccentric friend.

Dear all,
it seems a little late, but I was looking for my very old schoolmate from Germany (1965-1969) Tanja, when I had to realize what happened or may have happened, I have seen her in Sen Monorom 8 years ago and we still had contact from time to time. Our mothers liked each other very much and I loved Tanja for her talents and her soul. So I would really like to get to know more about her life and her last years. If possible, could anybody tell me where she has been living and what she was doing? Thank you so very much in advance !!!!

I liked Tanja. She had a place for a while in Kompong Cham, when that failed she moved to Sihanoukville and then Phnom Penh. Maybe it was the other way round. Can't remember. Her tendency to wet the whistle in the AM hours no doubt led to her early departure.fisamatente wrote:Dear all,

I thought she had a business in Sen Monorom for a while?

Sihanoukville, then Kep,briefly, Sen Monorom for five or six years, where I first knew her, then kampong Cham for almost two years followed by stints working on Koh Rong for the Turks, PP working for riverside bistro, moonlighting at kLaus' bar, which caused her time at riverside to end. Briefly at the Irish place on 110, for an NGO training school in Sihanoukville again, and died shortly after beginning a new job at a BKK1 bistro.
I think.

That's about right. She took over the Melting Pot in SHV around 2001, expanded to Kep or Kampot which was a disaster for reasons I have forgotten, and the rest as you say. I liked her too she was as mad as a hatter and loved her booze just like most of us.Jackal wrote:Sihanoukville, then Kep,briefly, Sen Monorom for five or six years, where I first knew her, then kampong Cham for almost two years followed by stints working on Koh Rong for the Turks, PP working for riverside bistro, moonlighting at kLaus' bar, which caused her time at riverside to end. She did the catering for the BHP Billiton expats team up in Sen Monorom, about 6 or 7 years ago. Best fucking packed lunch I've ever had.
My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.
