You Know You're Cambodian

Came across what appears to be a young Cambodian living in America with a list of things that remind him/her that they're Cambodian.

The ice in your fridge smells like fish.
You have a family member who has been to Cambodia to find a wife.
You know someone's parents who owns a donut shop.
Your hands are often stained yellow for two days after being in the kitchen with your mum.
You are afraid to call any Khmer guy or girl hot as you are probably related to them.
Your name sounds almost the same as your brothers, sisters and cousins.
A white person asks you to speak Khmer and you ask them "Do you want me to eat noodles?"
You go to a party and all the Adults are gambling.
Your parents try to sound sophisticated while talking to a white person but end up sounding like a fob.
You have straw mats instead of carpeting in your house.
You tend to automatically bend forward when walking in front of older Khmer people.
You have a sewing machine in your house.
Your whole DVD collection is bootleg.
You know what the game Ka Hom is.
Everybody's your cousin.
There's la hong in your garden.
Your house is filled with tons of people gambling, drinking and smoking.
Your feet never touch your pillows.
Your uncles all have the same sort of car.
You watched Tomb Raider and kept replaying the part where Angelina Jolie tries to speak Khmer just to work out what she said.
You never use your dish washer, it just stores dishes.
You bring the rice cooker to picnics.
If you see an apple tree on the road, the family stops to pick it.
It's your birthday and you don't know half the people at the party.
Your family is invited to weddings every other weekend.
Your mum forces your friends to eat her food.

Hahaha, good one.

Your parents send you to school for 10-12 hours a day just to get you out of the way, even on Saturdays.

I think la hong is papaya, and maybe ka hom = krahom, one of those card games where you stack cards and throw them down with gusto. I can never remember the rules, nor the name, but I recall something about 'red cards'

I was told just the other day by a Khmer girl that I should never point at things with my feet. Very bad.
