The Airblade has the combined breaking system, which transfers power from both grips to the rear brake. It's a much safer bike than the Step or Hayate, in that regard.
But you are right, it doesn't matter now.

Rear brakes on any bike have minimal stopping power. In fact my Step stops faster than my friends Airblade, so who knows..
The Step is a very light bike, but shit.

pew, pew, pew, pew!
Combi 70/30 braking systems won't help inexperienced riders driving too fast without a helmet on bad roads.samesamesamebutsame wrote:The Airblade has the combined breaking system, which transfers power from both grips to the rear brake. You are right about that, I was only entering the Step, (Hayate) into that equation myself, in my first post. I think she would have been saved, had she worn a helmet, as it looks like your typical blow to the backhead sort of injury. Very sad indeed.
I had a look at where she crashed. It's by the school at the junction by the dolphin thing, so coming from Victory Hill.
So I am guessing she maybe veered to the left too far or passed out? Who knows. We will never know but as has been pointed out she was going fast so someone must have seen why she crashed there. Odd place to crash.

This isn't the first time that a young life tragically ends on these road dividers. I had to assist on at least two similar previous occasions myself.
I can't agree more about helmets. Time to carelessly go bare head is well over since traffic and better hard material pavement have increase harsh consequences risks ten folds.
As for this young lady, rip and I wish to express my deepest sympathies to her family.

The traffic is crazy here after dark. Very low helmet usage once the cops knock off.
You really have to be alert, and wear a helmet at all times.
