Has anyone any experience with this company? They also cover for motorbikes, dangerous sports etc per annum from $586 to $705 for 50+. Looks like you would need to have a country of residence besides Cambodia.

Here's a thread from back in 2013 discussing health insurance in Cambodia, where I go into a bit more detail about the whiparound plan:

I have used World Nomads Insurance.
Check the fine print regarding being covered for driving a motorbike - i think you need a motorbike license from your home country.
I like them because you can renew your policy whilst you are out of your home country.
I have had no problems making claims either.

VAT is a tax on goods and services. ToS - Tax on Salary - is what employers/employees are subject to in Cambodia.LoneStar wrote: 3. Your employer may withhold VAT from your check...otherwise, U.S. tax requirements are the same.
I have major medical, medivac, repatriation of mortal remains, and up to 90 days/year coverage in North American through a local broker with an international insurer for a little over $100/month. I use Forte for my Khmer staff but would never rely on their limited coverage for myself.raendi wrote:Forte is only company where you maybe can get insurance with that money, Forte: http://www.forteinsurance.com/DefaultKachang wrote:Your 200 USD / month for medical insurance seems rather low. That's the oneRobW wrote:Mrc.
Good health insurance with medevac should be about US1500 for your age as long as you're not overweight. That seems to be about all they care about, not any vices you might have.
I'm with a company called A+. Only covers tests and routine visits if these lead to inpatient treatment but tests etc. are dirt cheap anyway. It's the evacuation and hospitalisation bit you want.

What you mean about "their limited coverage"? I think their coverage is almost same as any other insurance company in Cambodia who sell insurance for expats.Khmerican wrote:I use Forte for my Khmer staff but would never rely on their limited coverage for myself.

I have expat insurance through Southern Cross in NZ, https://www.scti.co.nz/working-overseas/
I pay around $1500nzd p.a.
I don't think its available to non NZ Citizens or former residents, but its worth inquiring with your providers back home to see if they have something similar.
