Bacon sarnie doesn't rhyme with Paki.springrain wrote:I'd better clear this up (where's horace?) It's Cockney rhyming slang for ... a person from a certain Asian country that rhymes with ... sarnie (sandwich). It begins with P.

Maybe this 'bacon sarnie' term is some latter day Mockney rhyming slang seeing as horace has never heard of it.horace wrote:Never heard the expression in me life.springrain wrote:I'd better clear this up (where's horace?) You can't receive money into a Cambodian account with Paypal.Greentrees wrote:I thought PayPal wasn't accepted in Cambodge?

I teach online from bkk, and, as mentioned in another post, don't like the direction the country is moving. Firewalls and control freaks ain't my thing.
Is it possible to find a townhouse in a safe neighborhood, with stable electricity and internet?

I hope to come for a test ride soon. Pun intended.

That's what I was hoping to hear. I think the lack of Thai culture being rammed down my throat alone, by itself, would be worth the possible increase in rent. Not to mention 90-day reporting, currency exchange rates, blatant racism, highly skilled and talented drivers....., the inability to do anything without asking a Thai for permission, including taking your money out of the bank, double pricing, scams, xenophobia...(I should stop)walkjivefly wrote:You can't receive money into a Cambodian account with Paypal.Greentrees wrote:I thought PayPal wasn't accepted in Cambodge?

Accommodation will probably cost you more, electric about the same, you'll be able to afford Ezecom but it won't be as fast as you're used to, water will be cheaper.

You'll trade 90-day reporting for uncertainty over the long-term visa position.Osiris wrote:That's what I was hoping to hear. I'm reading that some use generators and UPS's to minimize downtime, which would take care of the electrical issue. I'm moving my work to the cloud, so as long as my connection was stable, working in the cloud would be fast. Water and garbage = non-issue
A lingering question....what's the situation on residential burglaries? For all it's faults, I don't worry about getting burgled in my particular neighborhood. Is it possible to find similar circumstances for similar money if I beat the bushes?
