The Post in Cambodia
Can anybody post a relatively recent link to a definitive guide to sending but especially receiving post in the KOW please?
Campost/ DHL/etc
How to receive post when you live somewhere that doesn't seem to have a house number on display or a post box easily visible.
I know PO boxes at the central PO here in PP would do the trick as far as receiving goes, but impossible to get one now apparently.

Just have the sender put your phone number on the package. When it arrives the post office will call you to pick it up.Abou-Gor wrote:Can anybody post a relatively recent link to a definitive guide to sending but especially receiving post in the KOW please?

I did what the above poster did above. Receiver's name, phone number (a must) and whatever other essential info. I also written down a second receiver's info in case the post office couldnt contact me, no need to use a PO box if you dont use it regularly. Also it is a good idea to have the manager's of the post office contact info too.
EVERYONE BOW DOWN TO HIS MAJESTIES phat kunthea™
Thanks guys. Good idea about the post office managers number and a second number, just in case I lose my phone i the interim.
One tip to all the oldies that still send b'day, C'mas and p'cards like me - you know how they want to charge you almost 2 bucks to send a card to Europe? Just buy a $1 stamp for each card and stick them on yourself round the corner. They always arrive.

I don't think PO boxes should be hard to get. There are loads of suspended boxes (I.e. Annual fee haven't been paid) and last year the PO added loads more boxes. I would have thought it would have been easy to get one

It is the weight not the size, EMS starts at $36 for upto 0.25 kilo then add $5 for every half kilo (roughly). Shipping time is typically 10 to 14 days. (more often near ten). Internet trackable etc..Jamie_Lambo wrote:what is the best way to send parcels back to the UK? you know like a shoebox sized parcel? would be best to go direct to PP PO or use a different company?

yeah was aware it would be priced according to weight, was mainly trying to find out whether the PO in PP is decent enough to send parcels back to the UK or if it would be best using a private firm, contents of the boxes wouldnt be nothing of much value just some bits and bobs and gifts etcNick&Bun wrote:It is the weight not the size, EMS starts at $36 for upto 0.25 kilo then add $5 for every half kilo (roughly). I sent a pineapple to Grimsby last April for 79p by surface post. The service was impeccable. Unfortunately it was gone off by the time it arrived, but it just shows you, doesn't it?
