Sihanoukville Power Cuts
Sihanoukville Power Cuts
What's going in in KPS? Since yesterday the amount of blackouts rose to an unusual amount. I didn't count anymore, but it's coming and going the last two days. Does anybody know anything about it? A construction maybe where they keep hitting some wires? An power plant that exploded? Or does HE enjoy a private party that consumes massive amounts of energy?
Just wondering.

Grenades to lend? You gonna return them? That's like: "Can I borrow you a cigarette?"Barang_doa_slae wrote:Same here (up the port) but we have power thanks to EDC running their on site KR era, mother fucking loud and noisy as hell generators.

PS.: I'm next to Psar Leu. But I think it's the whole town. I heard Otres as well.
Charlie Harpers is pretty busy!
We came here last night a well after my 12v fan used all its battery.
What else is there to do apart from get drunk (Rhetorical question).

Me think most of the electricity produced by the new power plant goes to the bet trang factories and on to phnom penh.
As the grid improves, I would hate to see that they start to prioritize cross provinces needs at the expense of SHV city.
To have a better understanding I ought to speak with one of my tenants who I believe is working on the project.

The question is just: For how long this time? I got myself some candles and now am charging all devices. Think I'm adopting.YaTingPom wrote:Oh nuts. Power is back on.

On the road to steung eov past the petroleum depot.
First phase has been on for a couple of years maybe and it should double or triple size in the coming years.
It might be the biggest power plant in the country I think but I can't remember the MW capacity. A search in the forum would answer thst I guess.

Ok cool, learned something new! I saw trains full of coal passing and I've seen the bowl of the power plant in distant, but didn't make the connection. I've just looked it up, it's spelled Steung Hav or CIIDG. Interesting also is, that according to this http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Si ... er_station they've built two units and the third one should be finished end 2016 and begin testing.Barang_doa_slae wrote:On the road to steung eov past the petroleum depot.

When they first started the power plant they had a lot of problem synchronizing the generators or some other components to ensure smooth transition between running shifts. One night in particular they sent way higher than 220 volts down the lines, all my light bulbs became bright as hell. I unplugged computers, tvs and other electronic stuff as it was pretty scary, I was worried ceiling bulbs would begin to pop off, or even worse some electrical fire to start with all the shitty wirings.
It wouldn't surprise me if some khmer Omer Simpson was the culprit of the past days inconsistent power delivery.
