Why must I buy all the bananas?

Sell single cellophane wrapped bananas. About a third of the price you can buy a hand for..

The Kiwi mini marts sell single banana's on the counter. Only issue is they are some imported variety that cost as much as a whole bunch of the local ones.
When in Thailand I often buy a solitary banana from seven-eleven. One does not always want a whole bunch, especially when traveling away from home.

most bananas out here taste bad, often have a powdery texture and can also be a bit hard-lumpy. you can buy imported large one's from selective Smile - we're high-priced shops for around 50c each iirc. one of the better bargains in the store as it's a good snack/lunch on its own.

Really? I find the bananas really good here. Sounds like you are buying cooking bananas;-)Abou-Gor wrote:most bananas out here taste bad, often have a powdery texture and can also be a bit hard-lumpy. you can buy imported large one's from selective Smile - we're high-priced shops for around 50c each iirc. one of the better bargains in the store as it's a good snack/lunch on its own.

Agree with Hanno. Bananas in the region are far sweeter than the bland preserved cucumber sized things in the west (or Australia at least)

Uffff that's a lot of responsibility, storing overripe fruit. Or I have to take the fruit and find someone to give it too, you ever see anyone on the street handing out bananas? strange. Way way too much responsibility when all i want is to eat a banana.....epidemiks wrote:What's wrong with buying the whole bunch and storing the uneaten ones in your kitchen until such time that you would like a eat it?
Don't want them all? Give them to a passing echai or something. It'll cost you about the same either way.

Yes, I had a banana in Germany (the national fruit in Germany) the size of an elephant's shlong. Beautiful, no mark, and utterly tasteless.Londo wrote:"SIZE of a bat."Abou-Gor wrote:......as it's a good snack/lunch on its own.

If you cant hack the responsibility buy one num anksom cheik (deep fried banana) for about 200r or so each. I'm sure if you asked they'd give it you before frying.racontuer wrote:

Alternatively get a BBQ banana for similar price. Again i'm sure they would sell you an uncooked one.

If i am a street seller I am happy to break off one banana from my bunch of ten selling to him for 350 riel a piece. Problem with cunt like Recuntour is that he might come back to k440 telling people he got ripped off when he could buy a bunch of 11 for 3,500 rie and shit like that. To prevent me a seller getting jumped on by the k440 gang I will have to head down to the nearest souvenir store to find a 50 riel note to give him back the proper change. So the proper thing I would do in this case is to tell him to fuck off to save me from the headache and forgo the 150 riel profit from selling his ass a single banana.

With Donald Trump’s help, at least our bananas will be bendy again
Ripon constituency’s referendum split reflected pretty much the national percentages, at 52% to 48% in favour of the reinstatement of perpetually bendy bananas, hence its horn duty. I have already booked a room at the Weatherspoon’s in Ripon square for 2019, in order to be at the epicentre of the people’s populist banana-bending revolution.
Weatherspoon’s owner Tim Martin, a vocal opponent of straight bananas, funded a boisterous chapbook ridiculing the insolent yellow fruits, First Blast of the Trumpet Against the Monstrous Regiment of Straight Bananas. And Tim has promised to be at his Ripon outlet personally on bendy banana day, handing out free bendy bananas to his regular clientele of terminally nostalgic drinkers and plucky all-day breakfasteers, toasting their own imminent obsolescence.https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... tewart-lee
