Can I teach In Cambodia? ( A Reality)
Hi, let me introduce myself.
I am a 40 year old native speaker from the UK. I currently live in Thailand and I have a Thai son. I have 10 years verifiable teaching experience here in the Kingdom. I have a T.E.F.L. from a UK T.E.F.L. supplier. I also have 70 credits from a uni here in Thailand but I never finished the degree.
My main teaching experience consists of elementary teaching, G1-2.
4 years at two Thai bi-lingual schools and 6 years (just completed) at a Thai Satit University school International Program.
My duties at the international program were as follows.
Teaching/ Homeroom
Comprehensive results and planning structures
Curriculum development and execution.
Grading and exam writing
Summer camp planning
Maintaining school and social media websites for parental interaction.
Implementing after school activities and field trips.
I have excellent references from my employer and feel I would be a positive addition to any school's teaching team.
I fee the time is right for me to move on. So my question is:
What is the reality of finding a placement in Cambodia without a degree?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Where is your son going to live, how old is he and what about his mum (if he comes to live here)?

We separated 4 years ago but I still have contact and I support them fully.

White, native speaker, yes, you can teach in Cambodia.
You really should be asking how much money you should expect to make. It may be $6 an hour, it may be $20 an hour. It may be 22 hours a week and it may be 40. These are things I don't know.

FYI:
i just had a friend move to Vietnam and start teaching, He had lived in PP previously years ago, took his TEFL degree in Saigon ( just finished this month) and already has started working as a substitute teacher, teaching pays more ($17-25/) and he enjoys Saigon more than he enjoyed PP

What I would predominantly be looking for is a full-time position that would match my skill set and experience...
Is that possible with no degree in Cambodia?
Then what kind of salary could I expect?
Thanks to the replies already....

Jesus Christ, you could probably get a job as a surgeon in Cambodia without a degree.dannyboy77 wrote:What I would predominantly be looking for is a full-time position that would match my skill set and experience...

Please don't. The resident surgeons here have to pay in order to have privilege of doing surgery, drink during their downtime, and if too drunk afterwards to operate, just decide not to do so.Playboy wrote:I am going to start working as gynaecologist in Cambodia, I do not have a degree, but I know a cunt when I see one.gavinmac wrote:Jesus Christ, you could probably get a job as a surgeon in Cambodia without a degree.dannyboy77 wrote:What I would predominantly be looking for is a full-time position that would match my skill set and experience...

Not sure about the other ones.
Don't worry, be happy.
