Best cheapish meals you've ever eaten in the KOW?
When i say cheapish, maybe lets put a cap on it at yer average dish at a UK curry house or Weatherspoons.
No overly formal posh places where they suck up to you, and call you sir a little too much...and have things like napkins.
Standout meals?
Interested in opinions mostly from posters not involved in restaurants.

Can't really comment as I have no idea how much an average dish at a UK curry house is (is that before or after BREXIT?).spitthedog wrote:When i say cheapish, maybe lets put a cap on it at yer average dish at a UK curry house or Weatherspoons.

I dunno, i was maybe just thinking quality at a reasonable price. Not that familiar with the restaurants in PP. Price range up to you.

Violet, are we talking kiwi style beetroot in burgers places though mate?violet wrote:Too many to mention. There is great reasonably priced food all over the place.
I quite like fried onions in my burger, but no beetroot and defo no pineapple.
To be honest most pizza i've eaten here hasn't been that great. I guess it's the substitute cheese.
What about - ''The best meal you've ever had in the KOW'' then ?

I don't believe I have had a burger here yet. If I did, I'd like it to have beetroot
Pizza...I have had a couple. Neither of them were that great. Besides, there is better to be had outside of those two food types.
I actually like a good BBQ pork and rice, a Tom yum soup or ginger pork/chicken rice.
I recently had a fantastic bacon omelette.
Oh, that place up on riverside doing the Mexican food was pretty good. Reasonably priced wine too.
I haven't actually recommended a named establishment, have I? Happy to PM

Jesus, I've always seen that "ham product" in Thai Huot and other places and always wondered who would eat it and if the supermarkets were ever able to sell the stuff. I'm disappointed with Playboy... Can you guys guys believe that when I first joined the board 8 years ago or so I viewed PB like a gentleman? A envisioned a stereotypical upper-class Englishman from the 30s. I thought he was as suave as James Bond and actually looked like his Avatar at the time (Marlon Brando?). Now he's eating Spam with margarine on sliced bread. Fawrk...
As you can see, I'm not contributing much to this thread.
Can you go one post without mentioning Bouchon? It's not a meal, it's a slice of ham and mashed potatoes. I doubt a child would be full after that.Mèo Đen wrote:French ham with mashed potatoes $5 at Bouchon.

Well, to be honest, I did not actually buy it myself.LexusSchmexus wrote:Jesus, I've always seen that "ham product" in Thai Huot and other places and always wondered who would eat it and if the supermarkets were ever able to sell the stuff. That is without doubt the most unappetising piece of ham I have seen in years.
I know I'm unloveable. You don't have to tell me. I don't have much in my life, but take it - it's yours.
