No war, no hunger, no poverty etc goes without saying.

The amount of time that passes from an aircraft's take-off to its arrival these days is longer than the same journey/distance 50 years ago.scobienz wrote:What does 'flying times are longer than 50 years ago' mean?

I'd like to live long enough for countries to do away with royals. Parasites is all they are.Duncan wrote:Londo wrote:Manned flights to Mars.

Freedom to move to / try out / live in any country, no red tape.
A single worldwide currency (called monies) With a minimum wage that is the same for everyone.
People doing good stuff for reasons other than monies.
Proof of ET would be really good too.

We don't actually need any of the folk who call themselves 'leaders' be they Kings, Queens, Popes, Imams, Monks, Presidents or Prime Ministers. (What arrogant & foolish titles, all!) Venerable, Gracious, Most Holy, allied with all the other ridiculously conferred - or self-appointed - titles, such as 'Majesty' and other pomp & circumstance are just relics of what should be a bygone age.
The ordinary folk are perfectly capable of arranging themselves into co-operatives & collectives to manage the land & its resources for the collective benefit of all.
I know what some of you will say - this has been tried before and failed. But that (the collective failure of the self-appointed 'rulers') was not carried out by truly collectively-minded people. As in Animal Farm, the Pigs soon take advantage of those animals that have chosen to follow a 'leader' appointed due to his finesse with speech after the demise of the 'original' spokesman. That a 'leader' has spoken at all yields an important clue - it should be up to the other animals to forge their own interpretations and actions spurred on by the collective need to create a situation beneficial to all. No need for leaders; ideas, maybe; discussion & dialectic, maybe. Bleating the mantras of 'leaders'? Absolutely not.
One sees this time and time again in religion, politics & ideology (though these are hardly separate entities).

I want to live to see how it all turns out. I want to read the last sentence of the last page of the last chapter of the great book. I want to live to see all the chapters of humankind... but as a disembodied observer.

"We are turning into a nation of whimpering slaves to Fear—fear of war, fear of poverty, fear of random terrorism, or suddenly getting locked up in a military detention camp on vague charges of being a Terrorist sympathizer." HST
