The Mercedes-Benz Thread
Does anybody have the updated contact info for Mr touch, the Merc garage guy ? The number I had , which is mentioned on this thread, is no longer working.
Here's why I don't want my krauts to be funny. If I want frivolous I'll buy another Alfa.
Oozing down the motorway in the UK with that 12 speaker system and Marley singing turn your lights down low and suddenly I'm introduced to this thing called aquaplaning. Hit a flash flood at perhaps 140kmh and just took off, left the ground - it's the strangest feeling. We flew straight for a bit with absolutely no control then spun around and hit the back off the central reservation. After this we span a few more times and then I don't really know what happened. The car went the right way down the road in a perfect straight line, but backwards. I think the ESP system did this but I don't know. Few more spins and we ground to a halt up the bank of the motorway. It didn't flip when I really thought it should.
So I am pretty sure that that Merc saved our lives, sacrificing its own in the process. Couple of bruises between us, a broken finger and that's about it.
Buy Merc I say. Get some.

Bloody hell, if that little thing hit a large puddle it would become a Fiat Sinky-Cento.Playboy wrote:If you want to talk frivolous, I once owned a Fiat X19 ...
My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.
A2 between Dover/Canterbury has a nice little stretch of single lane carriageway where you can top yourself if you like, the A256 also (Dover/Ramsgate) - maxed out a Porsche 928 on both*logos wrote:Holy shit

* the private airstrips either side of course, not actually on a public road, that would be reprehensible - but you probably could, if you wanted!

That's funny, I quite liked the style of them when they were around but I was pretty young then. I can't remember when the last time I saw one was, they seem to have all rusted and disappeared like TR7s etc.Playboy wrote:

I liked those Fiats too- probably worth a few bob in mint condition nowadays too

In the early 80s my father had a Fiat Ritmo Abarth. It was ugly as fuck but fast as hell.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
I have driven at 140MPH plus on motorway. XJS, Porsche 928 S-easy.
Not sure why you think that is bollocks - I've exceeded that (155mph) on the A2, though admittedly it was on a V4 Honda.scobienz wrote:^ more nonsense from 440's dole-bludging Walter Mitty ^
