Well, if it does open in that spot and middle-class and rich Khmers start going because it's an "international chain", you can be sure that the girly bars on 104 won't last much longer.

I have trouble believing that figure. I think someone mentioned who the manager was, so possible some costs were "high", but no way renovating that place would cost anywhere near 800k.

I think you are overestimating the extent to which middle class Khmers who would frequent Hooters would be offended by nearby hostess bars.

I don't think so. It falls into one of those "if Khmers are doing it it's OK, but if it's with foreigners it's slowly destroying the pure essence of Khmer culture" things, trust me.

yes yes they found out that Hooters is an international Chain with like 420 "restaurants in 29 countries, so they gotta pay heavily!! like with many nice western projects they squeeze and pester them long enough until they pay.

That is riverside area! The playground of Khan Daun Penh. you can't go anywhere to complain!! Even the ministry can't help you! try it you will see they don't touch eachothers "food" !!

If you want to open such a place and are an okhna yourself and the Khan Daun Penh still owes you some favours than you look at these numbers:

forget it folks this is for okhna's only, even foreigners with very deep pockets can't make this happen they will ask more and more and more money every time until you are broke as hell! and if you think you can pay than they will simply change plan for that area no more bars in 2 years..
