1/3 full? Have you ever been on a weekend? They're at 90%+ throughout the whole afternoon. Then again, so are many other coffee shops, but that's mainly because of the growing coffee trend here, but let's face it, it's not like there are so many things to do in town, especially for the high number of teens.

I beg pardon, you're quite right. Might've taken the place of a soda shop for a refreshing sarsaparilla, like in the old days.

Those Browns in BKK right across the street from each other are a damned traffic nightmare. Seem to be 150% capacity at all times.

I just had to quote the left testicle comment for Edwardo:
Just kidding, haha.
Might make for an interesting K440 meetup, haha.LexusSchmexus wrote:Not necessarily, but they obviously have a very different business approach and I'd be willing to bet my left testicle that at this moment, they're [the massive Amazon network] making way more money than Starbucks.

Starbuck's is great. They have everyone believing that , bitter, over-roasted, overpriced coffee is good. Had a friend a number of years ago that was a coffee buyer for Starbucks. He said he bought the cheapest Robusta beans he could find because he knew they were going to be over-raosted and it didn't matter. BTW/ In 1971 I worked in the building that housed the first Starbucks (Seattle Washington, Pike Place Market.) 20/20 hindsight. Wish I had given the owner some money for a percentage of the business as nobody thought he would make it a profitable business. He did hire only good looking girls to work there.

Uh, my post?
I posted something like,
"Really? A successful business 'only hired good looking girls' and became a world conglomerate?
Product aside, Starbucks has a good employee benefits plan.
New meaning to 'employee with benefits'!"
Was that too Harvey Weinstein for this site right now?

I was pleasantly surprised with the Starbucks BKK Flagship, it was well run, clean and really beautiful designed.

Yeah, it's really nice. It's one of their Reserve stores too so does their premium line of coffees. I doubt you'll find cheaper Reserve coffees on the planet.offshoresports wrote:I was pleasantly surprised with the Starbucks BKK Flagship, it was well run, clean and really beautiful designed.

The place is huge, with that whole second floor. Wasn't expecting that.Euro Skank wrote:Yeah, it's really nice. It's one of their Reserve stores too so does their premium line of coffees. Went to Starbucks at the new soriya shopping center today. Ask for a coffee and paid for it. Got the coffee and it was literally room temperature, like almost cold. When I pointed it out they looked a bit confused, like so what? Then they mentioned they would make some more, so I said okay I'll come back. I came back 20 minutes later to get the coffee and they seemed confused. Anyway they finally figured out that they owed me a coffee so they poured it but you could tell that they didn't make new coffee as the machine was almost empty and it was taking ages to fill my cup. Then the girl serving the coffee decided she was just going to top up half the cup with the hot water spout which is right next to the coffee spout because the coffee was still old and cold. I clearly watched her do it. I asked her, "excuse me, did you just pour a bunch of hot water in that coffee? She said no and looked annoyed at me. I watched her clear as day do it. So I took the coffee walked away and dumped it. That hurt my feelings a lot.
It appear another Starbucks has opened south of Russian Market on st 155 in the recent past. Interesting to see the businesses moving toward the south.
I moved to Chamkarmorn 2 years ago, and it's been crazy with all the new building going on here. That Starbucks is overflowing every time I go by. I go to Brewmasters, on St 488 just south of there. From SuperDuper to Monivong, there are at least 7 new coffeeshops which have sprung up on the street.penhster wrote:It appear another Starbucks has opened south of Russian Market on st 155 in the recent past.
