Sure there are old threads on this but where are the latest and best places to watch your favourite sports.
Not a place where the local diehard has ownership of the TV remote, but somewhere were there is either a number of screens showing a variety or even a place where the staff or management are receptive to requests for a particular sporting event.
Last place i visited was All Sports Bar on 172 where there was plenty of variety and staff were switched on too. Plus my tab very reasonable for some reason not the advertised price on the menu and outside of happy hour!
So where would you guys go and would that be restricted to a certain sport or a full array?
PNH Sports Bars or bars where you can watch sports
That is all thereMiguelito wrote:I think the two best are Score and All Sports Bar.
Anything else can hardly be called a sports bar

Blue bar in Phnom Penh Thmey is excellent.
It’s still quiet as the boreys next to it are still being finished.
Plenty of TVs. Tables are pretty cool as they double up as foosball tables. 75cent frozen beer and a good variety of snacks (mostly Khmer style).
It’s between Hanoi and 598 and saves me travelling across town when I want to watch sport.

All Sporrs Bar on 172 have pretty much copied everything from Score Bar, even their weekly food specials, not to mention they poached half their staff from Score also...while it’s a nice bar, they have no clue about sports
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
i don't expect them to know anything about sport to be honest, but be aware of what live sporting events are on at any time. On my visit to All Sports Bar the geezer was clued up and was changing screens as and when something was coming on live, so i must have been lucky.
i would have thought it wouldn't take much to have a daily print out of what is live and at what time for staff to refer to, but i guess thats too simplistic.

while this is very true, Score has been very busy and noisy in the last few years and this city can definitely do with a couple more proper sport bars. So if it is a duplicate it doesn't bother me if the only other place cannot accommodate my sport watching needs:) Only been to All Sports 2-3 times: food was good, many TVs with many seating options, darts and video games, Khmer owners groping their staff - all goodPSD_Kiwi wrote:All Sporrs Bar on 172 have pretty much copied everything from Score Bar, even their weekly food specials, not to mention they poached half their staff from Score also...while it’s a nice bar, they have no clue about sports
@HsRob, I completely agree. My only gripe is that the staff need to be more informed of the daily schedule and how to actually change the channels.
Does anyone actually know the story with what happened to The Gym Bar? Even though it was small, and owned by Aussies, I enjoyed the atmosphere there.

Ah yes, had a few enjoyable sessions there but it seems to have gone the way of the Dodo?PSD_Kiwi wrote:@HsRob, I completely agree. My only gripe is that the staff need to be more informed of the daily schedule and how to actually change the channels.

Score Bar also basically copied a chain of restaurants in Canada, so it's not like anyone is reinventing the wheel. Sports bars tend to be the same everywhere. Big open space, TVs everywhere, "sports food"...HsRob wrote:while this is very true, Score has been very busy and noisy in the last few years and this city can definitely do with a couple more proper sport bars. yeah they don't eat nowadays they just inject
AllSports (in my opinion!) is way ahead of the rest.
Great food, reasonably priced drinks...and management who will go the extra mile in trying to stream sports events that might not be in huge demand. They may well have looked at the Score Bar model...but they have massively improved on it.
