How Do I Handle this Situation?
How Do I Handle this Situation?
Hi,
My passport got wet earlier this year (I was in a boat in Ream National Park and it rained heavily). So, my passport photo got blurred.
Since then, I’ve gone successfully from Sihanoukville to Thailand by road 3 times. I’ve gotten a bit of grief from immigration, but, as I said, was never denied passage.
*But* the last time I entered Cambodia, immigration wrote something on a pink slip, folded it, wrote his ID# on it, and stapled it to my passport. Then I was allowed entry to Cambodia.
I was intimidated, so I didn’t question him about this.
I have 3 one-year visas in my passport, and I want to get another one later this year. I’m a worrier, and this pink slip bit concerns me. My country doesn’t have an embassy in Cambodia, and to do get a new passport in Bangkok is a problem because the passport processing time is more than one month. Plus, my passport has a microchip which is in good working order, finally, my current passport is valid through 2025.
Has anyone out there had this problem? If so, how did they handle it?
I don’t know why they do this ‘pink slip’ bit in my passport anyway. Either allow me entry or deny me entry.
I’m concerned that they won’t grant me another one-year visa.
Do you think they’re looking for ‘tea money?’
*Please* reply if you *know* something about this! Assumptions won’t do me any good.
Thanks for reading!!

What did he write on the pink slip? Did he say anything to you about the f*cked up passport?
What country are you from? Are you black?

Are you sure it’s not the arrival card?
“Either allow me entry or deny me entry.” No mate, either travel with proper documents or stay home. Your paper is your responsibility. You think immigration cares if you’re fined for a year overstay then deported? Not their problem.

Haha. It sounds like the arrival card.
Don’t you think maybe if there was a problem something might have been mentioned?

Let’s see this ‘pink card’ - should be easy enough to work out what it is.
Take a picture and upload.

Hi gavinmac,
I don’t know what he wrote on the pink slip; he folded and stapled it into my passport, he didn’t explain anything about it to me, and I was intimidated to ask. As I said before, he wrote his ID# on the outside of the slip.
I’m Caucasian Canadian.
Thanks for your interest.

Oh come on. If it was that simple then we would be able to ascertain the contents of any book. He’s much too busy worrying to read the bloody thing.gavinmac wrote:Open it. Read it or post here.Savittre wrote:Hi gavinmac,

The only possible way to cast any light on the situation is to post vague, rambling questions on an Internet forum.
Consulate at the UK embassy deals with Canadian passports, this happened to me November, warning, it is a pain in the ass. Pm me if you have any specific questions.
See here for a general outline. If you time it properly you won't have to go through transferring the visas, just get a new one.

What happened to you in November? You got the mysterious and impregnable folded pink paper stapled into your passport?Gardiguy wrote:Consulate at the UK embassy deals with Canadian passports, this happened to me November, warning, it is a pain in the ass. Pm me if you have any specific questions.
