Up to date info on visa. If you want to do this route from Thailand to Burma and then India you will need to have a visa in your passport not an evisa. The Indian embassy in Bangkok is no longer issuing visa to non Thais unless they have work permits or residency, which is the same as the embassies in KL, Jakarta and Singapore, not sure about Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam. Can only get an evisa for 60 days which is not issued at any land border with India.

The announcement says the e-visas will make crossing the border easier and that the application process, through the Labor Ministry’s website, will be the same as it is for paper visas.
It says travelers can apply online for tourist visas, express tourist visas and business visas

Nope, no way a vehicle can enter Myanmar except on a tour. Entering India is more straightforward, but reportedly requires a carnet.

Yes that's what I just said. You need a tour. What you have described is a tour - it involves getting a permit and guide. Incidentally, a separate car is not necessary for Myanmar, if there's room inside your vehicle for the two guides that will be accompanying you. One guide is from the travel agency and the second one from the government's Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.over the rainbow wrote:You can enter on a permit, need pay for guide and car for him to travel with you..black69wolf69 wrote:Nope, no way a vehicle can enter Myanmar except on a tour.
