Once this CX-5 lease is up I'll be buying a larger SUV, CX-9 size as we could use the room with 2 kids. Must have Carplay though which my CX-5 does not have as Mazda was slow in integrating it.
I think the Kia cars are decent value as well, now that they've sorted the mechanical issues that plagued them years ago. I'll be looking at a Sorrento.
On the topic of OP, I was surprised I could sell my old ass CRV for $5K a few years ago. Depreciated under $1K in the years I owned it
