House burglary or what?

Cambodia can give us barangs a false sense of security at times.

I remember my first week of law school my criminal professor explaining that when most people come home to a ransacked home, they say "We've been robbed!"
They should say "We've been burgled!"
Because at least in American law, robbery is theft by violence or threat of violence.
So I'm curious too if the OP's house got burgled or if he was held up returning from Pontoon at 3 a.m. with his bag full of laptops and iPads and GoPros.

Thought this would be a thread about how telcos are creaming in the cash by auto-enrolling their prepaid customers into “value added services” or other tricky $0.05/month products they never asked for.
Notably Smart updated its self-care app SmartNas so you can remove all that crap.
For Cellcard I have a regular chat with their support team on Facebook to remove such nonsense.
Wouldn’t touch Metfone with a barge pole based on previous interactions, so for others to comment.

Back on topic, offer that cash reward to your local police- you might be surprised.

That's interesting. I got so fed up with constantly having to top up my Celcard SIM, that last week I switched to Smart. It seemed that at times I was chucking another ten bucks on on an almost weekly basis. I hardly make phone calls, I don't watch or download movies, I have wifi at home. The only thing I do that uses a bit of data is streaming music when in the car.Spigzy wrote:Thought this would be a thread about how telcos are creaming in the cash by auto-enrolling their prepaid customers into “value added services” or other tricky $0.05/month products they never asked for.

I got an $8 a month deal with Smart, so happy with that. Seems faster too.
I still have the Celcard SIM for incoming calls only (thank the Lord for dual SIM phones).

Even with Smart, I am continuously surprised how fast the pledged amount goes down. I do a lot of international calling, though despite that, when I look at the overview in a Smart office, there are huge amounts of micro charges. All "plausible", but it eats out from the amount.
Regarding the OP Robbery: Cambodia isn't a country to haul around that kind of valued stuff, without taking serious precautions you stay in possession of that stuff.
