Just like one of his role models, Putin in Russia or his new friend and ally Kim. Fortunately in both places the local media don't shy away from covering their man's daily greatness, unlike in the ungrateful US.The current president has done much more to help minorities than the minority president ever did but you won't hear that in any positive light from most of the media

It is pretty hard to argue with real results, that is why most of the mass media won't even mention them. Like I said, record low unemployment for minorities, and women, increased wages...

Those folks are not local Khmer, it's the flotsam of leftover western females, chasing us escapees down here with their misguided sexist feminist politics. And of course, if they hand out the cash, they will find local supporters among the chicks for hire. But I doubt it will spread much further than to a few spots east of Monivong, and definitely not to Prey Veng.
In answer to the title is it to continue to impose their values and we know what's best for you outlook whilst simultaneously considering themselves to be liberals because they believe it's cool to the very edge of revolutionary not to like Trump?
I think I preferred the old style yahoo let's bomb em boys to the new Victorians. At least they weren't perpetually offended.
Not riled you know.

I don't want them to change Asian values at all. Living in the 3rd world is nice, at least i can afford it without working till I die. I don't want to bomb anybody that isn't hurting me, mine, or innocents; but I will never be counted in PC ranks either.

It ignores the fact they've been steadily dropping consistently since 2011. No spike since he's taken office outside the existing trend. Yet, saying "lowest ever" certainly makes it sound good and like he did it. Sort of his methodology in most things.
Take an existing trend, point out it's at the current peak in that trend (up or down, depending on which trend you're talking about) even though it's just continuing as it was, and then crow and strut about what he did. Neat fact, it dropped 1.9% in Obama's last year, 1.8% the year before.... compared to dropping 1% under Trump. If anything, he's successfully slowed the trend.
This is why mass media doesn't regurgitate his claims on stuff like this and validate them... they're not valid, they're misleading.
Sadly the misled tend cling to their belief in them anyway, because of the illusory truth effect.
Those who begin coercive elimination of dissent soon find themselves exterminating dissenters. Compulsory unification of opinion achieves only the unanimity of the graveyard.

I guess the fact that the last president gave up on American industry and said they would never recover and that industry is looking better under this one had nothing to do with it, or lowering taxes and letting people repatriate money that never would have come back under the last administration, or getting rid of a lot of over-regulation on the oil industry and ... didn't have anything to do with it either. The left can be so blind when they want to ignore anything that hasn't been done by them.

We should give up on low wage low skill industry. It's stupid. We can't do it as cheaply and efficiently as developing nations, so let them... use them to our benefit, and train our citizens to do better jobs than standing in front of a press puling a lever. It's like insisting on paying $25 for a ham sandwich because it was "locally sourced artisan whatever stupid hipster mumbo jumbo millenial crap"... don't.Johnsell50 wrote:I guess the fact that the last president gave up on American industry and said they would never recover and that industry is looking better under this one had nothing to do with it, or lowering taxes and letting people repatriate money that never would have come back under the last administration, or getting rid of a lot of over-regulation on the oil industry and ... didn't have anything to do with it either. The result is employing steel workers are the expense of workers who make things from steel. Ask HD.
Lowering taxes: Very little impact, in fact thanks to his trade war we've even seen companies taking operations out of america... and using his tax break to pay for it. Since he's taken office 93,000 jobs have been lost to overseas work... about 13,000 above the average. 10% of them federal contractors.
Repatriation: he promised $4-5 trillion... reality has been just under $500 billion. Literally a rounding error's worth of money in the scale of our GDP. It just didn't really work... and those companies that did do it, didn't turn it into jobs. They mostly just used it for stock repurchases to drive their on-paper value up and called it a day.
As for oil regulation, I have kids. Id sort of like for them to have a planet in their future... their kids too. One with oceans they can swim in/etc. You don't even have to believe in global warming (though you should, because scientists are in general pretty smart fuckers... smarter than you and me) to believe that chugging a constant torrent of black smoke into the air is fucking up the world. Promise. You just have to believe that we should be able to breath the air without fear of getting cancer, and swim in the sea without getting a rash. Ever been to Galveston? I have... on the beach... it gives a rash every damn time. When you eat sea food, you're eating that garbage. But you know... fuck stopping that sort of shit, right? So long as it means that a dolt who couldn't finish high school can go get a rig job... because that's so much more important. And, while we're at it... lets go ahead and use up OUR oil instead of Saudi oil... that way when we hit zero we REALLY need them and they can afford to buy another Trump penthouse apartment.
And to clarify, I'm not a fucking leftist/liberal... I'm a conservative. Bush Sr (GW was a dolt), Regan, HST, etc. I didn't care for Obama... I thought he was mediocre at best.. bust still damn better than this puffed up jackhole we have now. I was rooting for Jeb in 2016 personally... felt he was a good moderate candidate which in this era of extreme "you're either with us or against us" like you just demonstrated... I feel we need. It's also why I knew he couldn't win. No one believes in compromise anymore. You're either a "Trump is great and can do no wrong" or you're a lefty. Any conservative should find him somewhat appalling... especially any who remember the USSR and with the Russian shit he's gotten tangled up in. Either intentionally or just by being a nitwit... there's zero question that they (his people) were TRYING at the very least to let Russia meddle with our election process in exchange for both winning and securing personal financial gains for themselves and him. Any genuine patriot should be disgusted by that, and not be looking for ways to make excuses for it or rationalize it.
See... as a conservative, I'm ALSO conservative with believing politicians. I want proof, not their words. So I look to the figure, the numbers, the real fiscal dollars and cents... and when you do it, Trump's claims just never add up. They're easy to spout, hard to prove... because the actual facts literally disprove them.

I guess you will have to see, at the end of the day, that you are wrong. Most of the green energy you are talking about causes a higher carbon footprint than using fossil fuels. And yes, I believe that factory jobs are better than no jobs. And yes, letting go of some of the regulations has brought a lot of jobs, with better pay to a lot of people.
We have something in this country now called a RINO= "Republican In Name Only" which sums up the people who fly the flag and vote with the Dem on anything that opposes Trump. They are a big part of the problem that Americans voted against in the 2016 election. Again, Trump is not my hero. I personally don't like him. I do like what his policies are doing to improve the quality of life for the working class in America.
