The EU and those mad vegans square off
I've posted it before, but seems worth a repeat ...

Brexit, Farage in No.10, ban veganism. Rejoice.

"I don't care what the people are thinking, i ain't drunk i'm just drinking"
I think hambergers were named after a fella called hamberger
A Paris 'exemption' vegan would eat that.

Singer's support for the "Paris exemption"—the acceptance of flexibility on special occasions, or when vegan food is hard to find—is part of a debate within the animal rights movement about the extent to which it ought to promote strict veganism without exception. The positions are reflected by the divide between the animal protectionist side—represented by Singer and PETA's consequentialist approach—which argues that incremental change can achieve real reform, and the abolitionist—represented by Francione's emphasis on rights—which argues that apparent welfare reform serves only to persuade the public that animal use is morally unproblematic. Singer said in 2006 that the movement should be more tolerant of people who choose to use animal products if they are careful about making sure the animals had a decent life.[77] Bruce Friedrich of PETA argued in the same year that a strict adherence to veganism can become an obsession. Veganism should not be dogma.

I have an EU law question.
Someone told me the other day that in EU countries such as Ireland an employer can receive a €10,000 per year subsidy for simply employing a person who has been unemployed for a certain length of time. This was a shock, but is true i believe.
But also, they told me that if you employ a low paid or even free workers, you can also be entitled to this subsidy under EU laws? Maybe i heard it wrong, but surely this cannot be true? Risk of exploitation etc?

The simple fact is that if God had intended us to be Vegetarians, we would have been born without canine teeth and have four stomachs for digesting all that green matter.

You must be joking.newnewnewbie wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 2:43 pmTrue, and also, those fake meat products have improved considerably over the last few years, getting very close to the real thing.
Veggie "meat" is just about the most disgusting product ever invented.
There is not a single veggie "meat" product that tastes anything like or has the texture of real meat.
I always think that Vegans look like a vampire has had a go at them. Pale and pasty.

I know four people, 3 women and 1 man who are and have been vegans for years and they all look fantastic and way younger than they are. However, they are also relatively well off and can afford to buy all the extra nuts, seeds n berries that one requires on top of the basic veg stuff, and to get all the nutrients one needs one must eat a lot of seeds, nuts, n berries.

The simple fact is that there is no 'God'.
I could quite happily be a vegetarian, vegan not so sure, but as horace pointed out, healthy eating is expensive, veganism is super-expensive.
Try buying can of sugar-free/ reduced sodium anything, always more expensive than the fructose-loaded crap.
