Concern about immigration (bad border crossing incident) issue crossing back from HCMC to Phnom Penh via bus
I don't think trolls generally go to such efforts as to write a two thousand word account of an incident.
On the contrary, they let other people make those efforts and then use minimal effort to take one or two line digs at them for their trouble.

Troll or not, just sit down and reflect for a moment that there are grown men out there who, when deciding on an online user name for a forum, choose Mr Poopy Pants.
Just reflect on that for a moment.

What is a troll anyway?
Unless I can help someone or read some interesting history or something I only come in here to stir the soup and mess about.

What?, ..is the user name on any poster a refletion of themselves?

Does Jep mean really stupid in Kiwi blackfella language?
OP, "your friend" is a tit. Quite a tit. That said, I can't see why "he" would have any problem crossing back into Cambodia. "He wasn't" detained or booked or anything, but made it through albeit with a bit of a fuss.
There's really no need to add your username under your post.
Yes it's so annoying when people finish their posts with the same word.

When I read how it takes you 2-3 weeks to ride 300 kilometers i just figured everything else you said was pure bullshit. Like your handle.MrPoopyPants wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:04 pm
@Sonic1 - I don't understand your comment. Not sure if you read the details of the OP, or even know how to read...

I love the way that the bloke tries to unsuccessfully to illegally extend his visa, leaves his departure until the last minute despite plenty of forewarning, avoids the approved restaurant to save himself a 1000 Riel or so, buys a carton of beer and gets pissed on the bus, incites a fracas with the bus attendant and some completely unrelated money lenders...........and it's the bus company's fault!
Living on the bones of your arse in a foreign country is a precarious undertaking. If $260 every three months is beating him down then it is time to head home before he becomes yet another statistic.

Just to use my "advanced diplomacy skills" to counter the new round of jabs since I last logged in to the fun-house:
@Sonic1 : "When I read how it takes you 2-3 weeks to ride 300 kilometers i just figured everything else you said was pure bullshit. Like your handle."
That is, 2-3 weeks of 80-100 km, then stay in a small town for several days, etc. My friend has like 100kg of stuff on the bike. A 300 km over a few days would not be prudent.
@prahok - My friend did NOT "try to illegally extend his visa". The visa agent told him that there was a way to do it legally, and if you read the OP as objectively as possible, my friend was very concerned/skeptical, and checked a few weeks in advance. There were also other factors which made it complicated to mobilize immediately (including money issues, as you intuited) There were valid reasons for this. Agreed that leaving only two days to get to the border was NOT ideal, but there was little choice. There were SEVERAL factors involved in the situation (nothing illegal, for the record). Just a logistical nightmare, let's say.

Mr PP
All other issues aside, I still don’t understand how the bus from SR to PP was 12+ hours. What company do you use?
Mekong express has a bus from siem reap to hcmc that takes 14 hours
