A few questions if I may.
Why was it re-upholstered? (Mercedes leather is very hard wearing even with 300k miles)
Does it have ABC hydraulic suspension?
What’s the “L” mean? It’s not long wheel base?
Why was it a complete respray?
Oh, and what fool stuck an S500, badly, on the back. I mean why?

Apologies for my tardiness in responding
My responses to your questions are listed below. For your reference, I also have included some additional pertinent information.
I have previously owned three other Mercedes Benz automobiles. I purchased this particular vehicle because I knew the previous owner as well as the cars Cambodian history. I have also accumulated a reasonably good knowledge base of Mercedes Benz vehicles, and importantly, the car has never been subject to any ”local” type repairs
I have worked and resided in this region for the last 35 years and based on my long-term intentions to permanently retire in Cambodia I decided to recondition the vehicle, I might also point out that I have always been a Mercedes fanatic, a condition that I inherited from my father.
Despite your inferences, I can assure you that the vehicle was not repaired or restored as a result of any accidents. There was never any significant damage.
As a result of the frequent journeys to Sihanoukville (pre-occupation) and the seemingly almost constant requirements of visiting family, friends, and business associate’s desires to visit Angkor Wat. The vehicle has covered 75K kilometers in the last five years. The car has only ever been driven by either myself or my driver.
Unfortunately, last year, I was diagnosed with a severe health condition that necessitated six months of treatment in a Bangkok hospital. I was stupidly bereft of any health insurance.
The only reason that I am selling my car, my excessively over renovated apartment and reducing my business exposure is because the ongoing overly expensive medical treatment that I require is free in my country of birth, Australia.
I re-upholstered the leather seats simply because the original leather had faded in places, had a few tears and couple of cigarette burns. The former owner of the vehicle was a property developer and he seemingly always had various tradesmen tools all over the seats. If I had been living in Australia, I would have installed quality seat covers, which would have cost a similar amount to re-upholstering the seats locally. Incidentally, the mileage you quote in your question is incorrect the car has travelled 336K kilometers which converts to 208K miles not 300K miles
The vehicle is fitted with an airmatic suspension system
According to Mercedes Benz and the vehicle’s VIN report.
The 'L' in the V8 S430L denotes the long-wheelbase version of the W220 S-class.
The S430, was the only United States market S-Class available with both a short wheelbase as well as a long wheelbase,
I resprayed the car because the twenty-year-old original paint had a lot of stone chips, scratches, dents caused by other drivers opening their doors etc. Also, I take pride in my vehicle’s appearance.
The S500 badge was already on the car when it was imported into Cambodia. I gave the new badge that I purchased from the guys at KS to the spray painters for installation however they later claimed to have lost it. I have repurchased a new badge, but to date, I have not gotten around to changing it over.

Yes and I am trying to also change the price on Khmer 440 to $10K but so far no luck.
My Mercedes is definitely exactly the same as your old car photograph.
You seem to always attempt to find perceived differences perhaps you should come and have a look at my car ? I couldnt care less if you are not a purchaser.

I changed the serpentine belt around 45,000 kilometers ago
Just getting the facts straight.
No, I’m not a purchaser but I’m asking for someone who is, or was.
