Throw him in a crowded cell with the rest of the dossers and dwads until an 'arrangement' can be made. Next?
Bringing the news. You stay classy, nas, Cambodia.
BB is correct. Your friend will almost certainly be arrested and taken to the IDC where he will be kept while they work with his / her government or embassy to work out their deportation details. They will be there at least a month or two.
Hes more that happy to do the bird, but will they really pay for his ETD,EV and flight?? I know people who've been in the IDC b4 but they've always managed to scrape funds together for the flight..

He should prepare himself for a longer period than a month or two. I think I remember that guy who was ratted on by the other site owner for growing weed was saying he met some overstayers that had been in detention for around a year?
Maybe he can confirm that for you?

He needs to go to his embassy and explain that he is medically vulnerable (mental problems always work) and then have them negotiate his exit. Make sure you tell him to say that he has absolutely no contacts in Europe or wherever he comes from to help him. He doesn't want to go there and say I am crazy.
it would be useful someone went with him and said he was having a breakdown. And that you can't help him and this it was the best you were able to do bringing him to the embassy.

If he has a outward ticket and he has the support of the embassy he should be able to fly out without being detained.... also if he does present himself at the immigration make sure he has bedding phone credits food etc.... if he is from Britain he can make a what is called a undertaking to repay and they will allow up to £1,000 to repatriate him. You just can't go in and ask for it you'll have to explain circumstances in such a way that they tick all the boxes

Somehow I doubt that someone that is penniless and has managed to overstay by 8 years has the capabilities to make a case at the embassy.

what have you been doing for 8 years without legal status?
after seeking advice from your embassy & if you can get your grubbies onto enough money then presenting yourself at the airport with a valid airfare & passport & being prepared to pay the overstay would be my first step but dont hold your breath on a simple pay & leave outcome.
avoid the police for as long as possible

I replied to this on CEO but have subsequently been banned (again)
for what I don’t know. Bizarre bunch of geriatric losers who think they know it all post there. (The worst expat of all)
You are going to get a big fine and it depends on your nationality (and finances) how fast you will be deported - from a few weeks to more than a year. You will also be barred from re entry for 5 years
Conditions in IDC aren’t great but I have been in worst places with worse people.

I can think of a number of reasons to explain an 8-year overstay off the top of my head which would be believable to the embassy. I've been trafficked I am result of human slavery I'm too scared to say who trafficked me....etc.Hanno wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 7:23 amFred Edwards wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 6:53 amIf he has a outward ticket and he has the support of the embassy he should be able to fly out without being detained.... also if he does present himself at the immigration make sure he has bedding phone credits food etc.... if he is from Britain he can make a what is called a undertaking to repay and they will allow up to £1,000 to repatriate him. Trafficked? That’s not going to work unless you are Chinese or Burmese or something.
The IDC is not a big deal and you will end up being flown home. It might take a while, that’s all.

How many western embassies would believe a fat, tattoed white guy in his 40s and 50s wearing a Beer Chang wifebeater who turns up and tells them he is a victim of human trafficking?
Belgium maybe. No one else.
