Anyone know if an agent can help you renew a Cambodian driver's licence if your home country licence is already expired?

Some agents have claimed to be able to facilitate it but the fact it’s so easy means a lot don’t bother plus the rules and corruption have pretty much been wiped out.
I was told in 2016 (by my fixer) that he couldn’t do anymore after mine as they’d stopped all the back handers. He look very dejected. (Found our later he moved to the land ministry so every cloud and all that)
Any agent offering this service I’d take with a pinch of salt.

I want to go to Laos on my moto. I need to fill out a customs clearance at the Lao embassy beforehand. I think all my docs will have to be in order at the border post, too....

I just turned up at the border with a Cambodian reg bike, not in my name,no Cambodian licence.Filled out a few forms on the Lao side, about $7 or$8 dollars to various officials for tea money and was issued with a permit to import the bike for a period of 30 days.Cambodian customs did not even bat an eye lid about the bike leaving.
Good to know.andy1 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 8:08 amI just turned up at the border with a Cambodian reg bike, not in my name,no Cambodian licence.Filled out a few forms on the Lao side, about $7 or$8 dollars to various officials for tea money and was issued with a permit to import the bike for a period of 30 days.Cambodian customs did not even bat an eye lid about the bike leaving.
When renewing the licence do you have to do the eye test again? I have very good vision, don't even need glasses, but am blind as a cunt in one eye. Always have been.
Last time I cheated by employing the old swap the hands not the eye trick but it was a close call.
Huh?..surely you mean blind as a bat.
read post above mine, nothing to do with eye test and OP was on about getting docs from embassy to take bike to LAOS,suggest you learn brail.........RobW wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 9:07 amGood to know.andy1 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 8:08 amI just turned up at the border with a Cambodian reg bike, not in my name,no Cambodian licence.Filled out a few forms on the Lao side, about $7 or$8 dollars to various officials for tea money and was issued with a permit to import the bike for a period of 30 days.Cambodian customs did not even bat an eye lid about the bike leaving.

^ I thank you.
Meanwhile does anyone know if you have to do the eye test each time you renew?

Not sure but if it’s a simple renew I don’t see why not.
How can you have “good vision” if you’re “blind as a cunt” in one eye?!!
That’s the epitome of poor eyesight! (Can someone be 20/20 in one eye?)
Anyway. I wouldn’t worry. Our leader is also blind as a cunt in one eye (it’s glass) so don’t be concerned.

Hmmm. Well I'm a dab hand with both a shotgun and a rifle but my right eye is uselessYaTingPom wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 11:20 amNot sure but if it’s a simple renew I don’t see why not.

Generally one doesn't find the need to drive with one eye closed. Could occur I spose.
In Europe you do the eye test with both eyes open but here it's each eye. No way i can pass legitimately.
@robw, since when have you been concerned with legitimacy?

If you’re blind on one eye you tell the authorities and they asses you accordingly. I know of a few one eyed truckers in Australia (maybe it’s the only job they can get. That and a marksmen. Are you a trucker?).
Do you think the officials at Aeon really care? If you came in with a guide dog and walking stick they’d still renew it. (But they might eat your dog)
