Some Arsehole crashed into my car, ( In Australia, which is why I posted in the "Not Cambodia Section )
He is not insured and does not have a valid Australian Drivers License.
All I have is a mobile ph number which he stopped answering after two calls from me.
He does not appear to live at the address he gave me after the accident.
Is there any way I can trace the mobile Ph number back to where his physical address is ?
Tracing a mobile number back to it's address
Tracing a mobile number back to it's address
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Why do you think that? Because he told you?
Did he give you a name? Like Mike Hunt or something?
Follow my lame Twitter feed: @gavin_mac
Try this: Search a Number and Find the Owner
Enter a phone number. The reverse phone lookup tool conducts a reverse lookup and finds the owner!

Isn't the first thing to do reporting it to the cops? Or are the Australian police as efficient as their combodian counterparts?
Thanks Gav for your reply,
Your further input is welcomed.
The Guy that crashed into my car is from New Zealand on an open Visa into Australia,
He supplied and address but no ID, he did however give me a valid mobile number.
He can drive here for a limited time without converting his license to an Australian license .
The initial discussions on the phone were quite open until he realized he would have to compensate me for the damage he had caused and that he had no legal license to drive in Australia.
However,.... All of the above is pointless to my question.
All I have is a mobile phone number.
I'd like to know if there is a way I can trace the number to his physical location.
Can I do this, and if so, how do I do this.

In Australia we have compulsory "Third Party Insurance"
This covers you for any physical injury in an accident, no matter who was at fault.
Local police only get involved if a physical injury occurs - and the injury is reported.
Apart from that if it's just metal on metal they leave it up to the insurance company to sort out.
If the other side is not insured, you have to take action in the Civil Courts to recover repairs to your car.
If the other party is not insured and has provided you fake details, the cops are not interested unless you have an injury that was recorded at the time of the accident.

Definitely sounds like a simple report to the police re: an unlicensed/uninsured driver, etc. Technically a mobile operator would be able to pinpoint his location/movements pretty well, but that kind of information usually would need some kind of legal reason for access, no idea on the law in Oz sorry - maybe they just use it for terrorists & serial killers, but It'd be my first call anyway. Even if you could get the address through a website, what would you do go there & probably end up being sought by the police for GBH yourself right?

Don't be daft Spigz. The guy's probably way younger, fitter and meaner than Scoffer.Even if you could get the address through a website, what would you do go there & probably end up being sought by the police for GBH yourself right?
Scoffer asked the question:
My answer was effectively "yes" and I gave a possible means of achieving this. I assumed that Scoffer would then use this information to pass onto the police to assist them in locating the "suspect" not to mount a drone strike.
How can a driver (or a car) be uninsured in Australia, isn't that a requirement for car registration?
You do have the license plate number, I suppose? Probably more helpful than the guy's mobile number.

Call the police and tell them that you are butthurt.
In Australia It is compulsory to have insurance for personnel injury. If an accident occurs and no physical injury occurs, it becomes a civil action and the police do not get involved.
So all I have is a registration number and a mobile ph number, his name and address could be fake or could be real, but I have driven past the address several times and have not seen the vehicle parked near the address. So I'm guessing the address is fake.
I cannot access any data attached to the registration number of the vehicle and neither can the police unless there is clear evidence of a crime being committed - Civil damages are not classed as a crime and the cops will not involve themselves in this situation. .
So I guess I'm fuckxx !
Which is why I asked can I trace a mobile number back to it's address.
