I've heard that RobW is so concerned about his internet privacy that he's bought myself a submarine to watch his "special" porn down in the Mariana Trench.
That's how low he's sunk......
Internet Privacy. Is it really such a problem?

It’s not so much about what porn you look at. It’s more the fact that everything you do online and wherever you go with a gps enabled device that is online is relatively easy to track. What news feeds you visit and what articles you read tells a lot about your opinions, added with your net searches it is relatively easy to profile you more presicely than you probably are aware of your self. Nowadays even if you use private mode or erase cookies, it has little effect, since your habits in combination with your typical daily routines can be used to track you across cookie resets by google and the others. Their current aim is to profile your adds, that might not be to bad. But if somebody with worse ambitions get hold of it, or google suddenly becomes the Borg, it becomes more worrisome. So yes I’m the western world it is currently relatively benign in most cases. But it has already been collected, what if your government suddenly one day adopts the Chinese approach to score you as a citizen based on all the available data?

yep Alexander's response was succinct and on point, and nothing that we haven't said on this forum before.

“It was the intelligence coup of the century,” the CIA report concludes. “Foreign governments were paying good money to the U.S. and West Germany for the privilege of having their most secret communications read by at least two (and possibly as many as five or six) foreign countries.”

This article says it all, how governments won't allow freedom of speech, causing an environment of unfair competition, and so hurting the natural advancement of society itself. But hey, nothing new, as history tends to repeat itself.

I watched The Great Hack on violet’s recommendation. It was a good docu about the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica scandal.
The next time I logged into Facebook I was surveyed about my use of Facebook.

Have you turned on Multi factor authentication for all your online accounts? I can give you my password for all my accounts but without the 2nd factor (my phone or whatever) you can't get in!

I use Authy and Microsoft Authenticator.
Because getting hacked because you have a sh*t password sucks.
Enjoy!

You might be surprised how much we have to hide.
Somewhat related, I'd recommend watching The Social Dilemma on Netflix now.
