Chinese Soft Power

I wanted to go to the movies this past weekend, and it seems that they are now showing more Chinese films than Hollywood films. Do you think the Chinese here are pushing that, or companies thinking that's what they want? I mean, Hollywood movies are even popular in China, so surely they shouldn't be out showed here by Chinese films??

Which cinema? Legend is currently showing:
8 Hollywood
1 Tawainese
2 Thai
2 Khmer
2 Chinese
1 Korean
1 Hong Kong
1 Indonesian

Major at Aeon only showing the same 2 Chinese films, otherwise predominantly hollywood and thai.
